I do not want to throw a cold blanket on this but I stopped wearing mine. I guess I bought mainly for the fitness aspect and was disappointed.

No matter, there are plenty of threads to sell you on the Apple Watch, or not.

There are better fitness only products then the apple watch. Where the AW excels at is the overall utility and usefulness. That is tracking your runs but then also providing feedback when you're using Maps, or quickly responding to a text.

The more I wear/use the apple watch the more I really like it and find that it was a great purchase.

Me too. I barely get my phone out of my pocket during the day, because of the Apple Watch, which means falling down less time-wasting rabbit holes like the internet or social media.

What about when someone sends you a Whatsapp message or email? How do you reply? Most of my notifications are from those...

I'm not sure. I've never used Whatsapp, or anything like it. I just use the Mac email client and iMessage, for both work and friends/family.

Agree 100%. While I love the Surge and Charge HR for the fitness part the Apple Watch is all around still a better device due to it many features.

I am kinda missing my watch so for the last hour I repaired and am going through the OS2 update. My God is it a slow and long process. Nearing the end and the new OS is actually 1/2 done with the install.

Will be back to wearing my AW for a while and maybe add the Surge on my runs and walks. I missed the extra things the watch did for me even though I did not admit it to myself. Let's see how OS2 goes, though I have read plenty here after their install.

Soon as the watch get done I am out the door. Temp only 69 degrees and sunny here and that is a perfect day to record my first run of the week!

Hope you have a great Sunday!

I just like the idea of having a computing device on my wrist.

I mean, if tech writers take a step back and look at what the  Watch does instead of what it doesn't do well by then they can speak on it. I enjoy the  Watch and I don't heap on the limitations on it. I understand it's a watch and it's primarily an extension for my iPhone. That's the idea of it... It's not to replace the iPhone... I think that's when tech people misunderstand the principle of it.

I just bought my wife the 38mm Sport model this weekend (Rose Gold/Lavender). She's not usually big on technology, but is loving the Apple Watch so far. There is a bit of a learning curve with the OS...but everything seems fairly intuitive.

I agree there are better solutions for "Fitness only"....she has been using a Garmin watch which is a great GPS device for keeping track of runs. She hasn't had enough time yet with the Apple Watch to truly compare, but initial impressions are that the Apple Watch may be "good enough" in this category! One main benefit....no heart strap needed for heart rate tracking! On the downside, the Apple Watch does not have GPS....still need some time to see how accurate the mileage tracking is on the Apple Watch!

Wanted to add: at $349 for the 38mm sport, it's not like a "major" investment...even for a first Gen. Product! It's more like a "splurge"....so the way I figure it....why not give it a go? Apple products hold there value well...can always sell and upgrade when V2 arrives!

Well I took the plunge and picked up an Apple Watch SS. So far I am loving it and finding it quite convenient for my needs. Thanks for everyone's comments.
Cool.

Try this: raise your new AW, say to it, "Hey Siri, ask _[your friend here]_ what are you doing tonight", and put down your wrist.

Don't look again, don't fiddle with it or anything -- just trust it. Wait for your friend's response.

Exactly. Some think the Watch should be a do-everything device, but it's not. It's like complaining that an external monitor doesn't have a computer inside...in other words, they're complaining it's not an iMac. LOL
