Used to have about mid-60% battery left at the end of the day. Now, even heavy use (exercise, car navigation) leaves me in the low 90s! I thought maybe it was a display glitch, but it sounds like some improvement is the norm. (Still... Are my exercise sessions--hiking--less demanding than some? I have my phone with me for one thing, so the watch GPS isn't needed.)

At around 7% battery use per day I could go for day... But of course my habit is to charge daily anyway. I'll assume 7% is a best case that I've happened to notice? Seems crazy.

I was at 77% battery last night when I went to sleep which is about 30% more than I had left before 3.1. Been around 75% each day now with 3.1. I skipped charging it last night and only lost 9% over the night with nothing changed.

Will see if I can make it three days which is possible considering I lost less than a third of the battery in one day. No workouts on it though due to some abnormal back pain.

Battery life has been a massive improvement.

It's ridiculously better!

I end up with 70% at the end of the day with loads of notifications and a running app used to run 5km.

I can confirm with my Series 1 42mm. Previously I was getting to the end of a typical day with 30-40%, before update. Now I am usually in the 70-80% by the end of the day (16-18 hours long). This is with everything turned on. It sometimes stays on 100% until well after noon. Amazing update, whatever they did, to literally double the battery life!

S1 and the battery is noticeable better than my old Pringle version I sold last year. Should be able to get 3 days out of this now.

I haven't noticed any negative battery changes on my Series 0. After a full days worth of use it's left at 40%, falling to 20% if I leave it on overnight too. Maybe I've just been lucky with my battery!

Mine was on the charger last night, I put it on at 0800 and it's now 1630 with the battery at 83%.

Eh, sounds like classic update placebo effect. "Some users are reporting better performance/battery life, while others are reporting worse!".

No. It actually is much much better gab befote 3.1. I actually commented on the update release thread about this. Probably around 20% to 30% better battery on 38mm s2

Explains why I hit 66% battery at the end of the day with my Nike+ Series 2 watch, cool. Interested to see how it does when I go running with it, without the phone and music playing.

My unupdated series 0 with watchOS2 has right now 70% batery left after 13 hours of use. That works, too. :)

Series 0 here. Charged Thursday night and I went away for a couple of days. Returned Sunday morning and still had 10% left. So pretty good.

Apple Watch original 38mm here, 8 hours into my day, 86% left. Granted, I'm sitting like a lump at my desk for 80% of the 9 hours..

The battery life is simply amazing.
I held back getting the original one since I was concerned not being able to get through the long days. With the AW Series 2 I never ever ended a day below 50% even after runs using the watches gps and wireless headphones.

I'm sitting at 78% after 8 hours on my Series 0. No workouts today.

I've always been in the 36 hour range though. (But much less on 3.0 betas and release I'll say)

Finally, a positive article regarding Apple's recent releases!

And to think it's about the watch...

I'm all for constructive criticism, but it would be nice if people gave more credit for what Apple improves.

While it still had bugs (including an activation bug yet again), iOS 10.0.x seemed like a very stable release compared to 7.0.x, 8.0.x and 9.0.x.

Of course, none of the usual Apple commentators who spent months bashing Apple for it's "declining quality in software" gave credit to Apple for improving the overall quality in iOS 10.0.

totally agree, just for the record my apple watch series 2 is now with 66% battery life, I'm wearing it since 10am and now it's 11:35pm and I after running & a busy long day
pretty impressive!
