I love the Apple Watch and weigh the decision to upgrade or not every year. It’s often a difficult decision. This year was the easiest decision ever… obvious no. Didn’t have to even think about it. A few more hours battery (I’m always at 50% at the end of the day anyway) and better scratch resistance (my Apple Watch S10 base model is absolutely pristine… I’m careful with it). No reason whatsoever to upgrade.
What motivates you to upgrade on other years? Just curious

Series 9 and up support hypertension detection.

I honestly feel like I hit the jackpot upgrading when I did two years ago. If the new updates are going to be this small and incremental from here on out, I’ll be hanging on to my S9 for a very long time.

I’m still really happy with the S7 I picked up from Amazon Warehouse for the price of an SE, right when the S8 came out.

One additional difference that I don't think has been noted so far between the S11 and the S10: the new, S11 watch supports both 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi (802.11.n), whereas the older, S10 watch supports only 2.4 GHz.

I can't imagine this will make a meaningful difference to most people, but since the point of this article is comprehensively listing the differences, well this is one.

(related: the Ultra 3 vs. Ultra 2 also now supports 5 GHz)
Is that just another mistake on the comparison page?

Apples says series 6 and above support 5 GHz.

I’ve never seen one. Is it like a ring or something that you just happen to be wearing every day and not think about?
On the off chance you're not being facetious, I was talking about an armband blood pressure monitor. You can also get much smaller, cheaper finger BP monitor. They aren't as accurate, but they are far more accurate than apple's ai wrist light will be.

There's no need for constant BP monitoring, in fact blood pressure is usually monitored at rest, you need to be calm, not moving. So you can monitor it daily if you want, and my BP app gives a reminder, but there's not really any need for it.

Only upgrading because I promised my mum the 10 to replace her se2. I wouldn’t have otherwise.

Upgraded from 10 JB to 11 Space Gray. No issues trading in at the Store. Rep was surprised and asked if I traded in every year lol. Work pays for it.
