I don’t think recalibration will change the fact that my 2 year old series 5 barely lasts 12 hours with light usage (battery health reports as 78%). Instead of paying $79 for a new battery I’m getting a G-Shock
My launch day s3 still lasts all day, even with recording an hour or two of exercises

My series 4 was just fine but the watch os 9 beta seems to be sucking battery life.
did you battery health percentage change>?

What about the SE ?

will it benefit from the software ? My battery health is 86%
4 and 5 only.

Has anyone with a Series 4 or 5, noticed a change?

In this post, the health went from 78% to 81% :)

I got my series 5 when it first came out and I’ve always had the always on display on. I usually charge it at night when I go to bed but forgot last night so it’s been on for 22 hours and still alive 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm still on a series 4. I installed OS 9 a few days ago. Not sure what my battery percentage was before, but now I'm at 79% capacity. I'll see what the new watch has to offer and then decide whether to upgrade or send off for a new battery. It still lasts pretty well, but if I do multiple workouts during the day, it will reach low battery at night.

I’m amazed at the series 4 and 5 owners that still have 80-90% capacity. I replaced my series 5 earlier this year when I could barely get through a day with 76% battery capacity. I charged it every night using optimized charging. My series 7 I’ve been trying to keep the charge no higher than 80% or so by charging it during the day at times or using a smart plug at night that turns the charger off. Hoping that keeps the battery life better.

Latest version of the watch has smart chargeing on. I manage to get 19 to 20 hours of activity because of being a bad sleeper. Still have over 50% battery life most days. I think the smart charging helps battery life.

Anyone who has updated an S4 or S5, pop on your before and after battery health! :)

Mines at 83% (waiting for public beta and I will update and feedback).

Since they made that update for the iPhone, my 11 Pro’s maximum capacity has been parked at 81%. It makes absolutely zero sense that capacity wouldn’t change over an entire year. Meanwhile I can tell myself it’s been going down.

Whatever they did to fix this seems like it only broke it even more.

We all know it’ll just tell all 4/5 owners that their watches are dying and it’s time to get a shiny new 8.

I charged my S4 last night to 100% and woke up this morning at exactly 4am and put my Watch on at then.

It’s currently 2pm and am at 57% battery remaining. I’ll report back to see how it’s doing by the end of the day.

As for battery health percentage it’s at 76%.

My series 4 still hold strong after all these years (4 years). 88% battery health. Good enough feature set to last incredibly long. Wonder how this “calibration” would work.
My series 4 which, I purchased the first day they were available, battery health is at 87% and I can get through a day with 20-30% left on days I don't workout. On days I do workout - and by that I mean take a run - I have to throw it on a charger for 30 - 60 minutes at some point to make it to the end of a day. In all fairness, I am asking a lot of the watch during a run as that's all I take with me. The watch provides GPS, Heart Rate, bluetooth audio, and cell service for typically 45-60 minutes. I haven't felt the need to upgrade yet due to performance or additional features. I'm kind of hoping the next version pushed me to upgrade due to some amazing feature.

Watch 5 here, and it works just fine for day to day living and walking around the city when traveling to places like New York. Unfortunately, as a cyclist, the battery life SUCKS, and I'm not sure it's because of the age of my watch or the inefficiencies of GPS tracking my cycle workouts, but I have NOT been able to get the watch to last through a century (100 mile) ride, it always dies.. In fact most of the time it's dead even on 80 mile rides usually 60 is the sweet spot.

So, I've reverted to just using my Garmin on the bike for tracking my workouts. I'm sure the GPS in Strava is a huge battery drain on the watch and probably the culprit, although likely if I turned on the cycling workout in the watch app it would do the same thing.
