The iPhone 8 was aluminium though? I don't see why they couldn't if they can make space grey, gold, midnight green etc iPhones. If not probably more a volume thing than a technical one - they sell way more of the cheaper aluminium watches than SS ones so it makes sense to offer the extra colour where the sales are.

Red is my favourite colour in general, but there is no way I would choose this watch. Having a red watch body would severely limit the range of bands that would look good. I much prefer my space grey watch that can be paired with any colour of band.

I bought the (Product)RED iPhone 8 as soon as I saw it. It’s almost like a Ferrari Red and (except for the XR), none of the other (Product)RED offerings (cases, watch bands, etc.) are quite like it. Even the iPhone 11 red isn’t the same.

If they come out with a Series 5 Apple Watch that comes close to the iPhone 8 (Product)RED color, it’s an instant buy. With the right band and watch face, it could be striking.

like lipstick, earrings, coats dresses hats, stage outfits gala events. Or for those who just love red.

aluminum finish would just look like crap but t TY he SS finish would really shine.

That ship has sailed.FWIW, I agree, but the square face shows so much more information that I think round is impractical. Kids born today will probably think of round faces in the same way I think of vinyl records. They are neat and retro, but streaming is just so much more convenient.

The iPhone 8 wasn’t steel but that was the best shade of Product(RED) I’ve seen, as noted by another comment. If they could pull off a deep reflective-red steel it would truly be awesome. Aluminum may look a little cheap.

If the whole watch was the red of the crown from the S3, maybe people wouldn’t complain about the crown dot standing out!
