Quick update: I went to the Apple Authorized Service Provider. They don’t even look at the watch, it’s just sent back to Apple and a ”new” (refurbished) one comes in about ten days. Cost is $389 CDN which is about the same price as a brand new Series 9 from retailers that still have stock.

I’ll either get my partner the Series 9, or a Series 10 with the colour band she likes On Black Friday.

Pretty sure it should be $135?

So you declined that “service” for 389, right?

Oh yes. I still have the Watch.
Yea it depends on the AASP, most that do not have the part there do replacement, others can replace the screen itself.

The Apple Watch series 9 in pink is a beautiful exclusive color if she’d prefer aluminum. Gold stainless steel is also a nice choice, i have a S6 of that color.

Oh she didn't like the pink, the gold, or the silver. Black it is (likely with the green band).

Those are CAD$. But yes, if that’s battery replacement only, not screen. Apologies, I missed that.
No worries, I miss things all the time. Good to know the battery replacement isn't that bad. I'll likely hold on to my series 7 for as long as I can cause I like the stainless steel.

Ohhh no wonder she got the darker blue aluminum S6! The one with the Series 7 is a lighter blue like the 14. Makes sense.

Darker colors- does she like all black like jet black or space black (Hermes Series 7-9 only)? Or she likes any shade of darker grays and/or the blacks which are graphite, slate or black titanium?

Oh I don’t know. She wants an aluminum model and never looked at the others. She’s not crazy about the black band though...

I think she would have gone with another blue or even green body if they still made them.

Green color is exclusive to the Apple Watch Series 7 and blue only is available on Apple Watch Series 6 and 7.

So the only darker colors in aluminum are jet black and midnight. Jet black it would be hard to tell if it’s aluminum as it looks like the space black stainless steel Apple Watch ⌚️.

I checked out the older threads on dead Apple Watches, but they didn't seem to have the same issue.

My partner's Apple Watch Series 6 just up and died yesterday, screen went out while she was wearing it. Tried a reboot, and then a forced reboot, no dice. Put it on the charger for a few hours, nothing. Left it overnight and came back to a still dead Apple Watch. I've since put it on my Apple Watch charger (the chargers are the same ones that came with the watches) and will leave it there for the day.

Are there any other steps I should take before I say this watch is done for? I'd take it to an Apple Store, but the closest one is 2.5 hours away, so that's not in the cards.

Thanks.
Exactly the same thing seems to be going on with my Watch 8 -Watch is alive but screen response is dead

Re My Watch 8 screen dying. Forgot to mention that I swam with it in a Pool the day before, but the next morning it was fine played music on my run did normal watch stuff. Later went to set a timer for Coffee and no response screen was a black mirror.
