I wear a series 4 44mm, so I may be ordering one and gifting the 4 to a friend that has a 1. I'm wondering if the series 7 45mm is just going to be too big on my wrist, though a bigger screen may offer some advantages by way of display. Weight in stainless, in the 45mm, is of course another factor. Maybe it is time to go aluminum?
Same size as the 44mm, just has larger screen real estate. (smaller bezel)

My first watch was a 40mm black titanium Series 6. I wouldn’t have got a Series 7 had I not been wanting to add a gold finish to my collection for almost a year now. I just set up my new 41mm gold SS Series 7 and I was quite surprised just how much of an upgrade it feels. I agree with other comments I’ve seen saying that early reviewers got it wrong, the bigger screen and thinner bezels really do make a difference. I’m even wondering whether to sell my S6 now because I’m not sure I’ll wear it much any more.

Would be nice if there were more colour options in stainless steel or if Apple used sapphire crystal in the aluminium models.
