Apple Watch Series 7 customers are starting to see their orders ship ahead of launch day on Friday, 15 October.

Some customers who obtained a launch day delivery of the Apple Watch Series 7 started to see their order switch to "Preparing to Ship" over the weekend and now orders are starting to ship. New Apple devices are typically marked as shipped as the release date approaches, even if the item itself has been in transit for some time.

The Apple Watch Series 7 features larger displays and casing sizes, the S7 chip, improved durability, new options colors for the aluminum models, and faster charging. Pre-orders opened on Friday, October 8, and the first Apple Watch Series 7 orders are set to arrive one week later on Friday, October 15.

There were some indications that the launch of the Apple Watch Series 7 may be delayed prior to its announcement and some customers are now facing delays of up to several months for new orders. Select Apple Store locations will likely have limited in-store availability of the new device starting this Friday.

I still see no activity for my 45mm Midnight (GPS). I got the initial confirmation email and a 10/15 delivery date but it is still in progress and no Credit Card charge yet. Also not seeing any tracking info with UPS yet.

Anyone know of any good screen protectors or cases for Series 7?

Went with aluminum and I read that they scratch a lot easier than stainless and titanium.

If you have a history of scratching your watches then fair enough a screen protector is an okay idea. But it’s not just going to spontaneously develop scratches because it’s aluminum.

Aluminum melts a lot easier than titanium too. Titanium needs 1000 more degrees! That doesn’t mean aluminum watches need cooling systems.

I thankfully switched to in-store pickup a few years ago for almost all of my Apple items. It saves me from the tracking worries, shipping uncertainty with companies in my area, and porch pirates. My launch days have been so much less stressful!
Same for me.. I usually choose pick up time next to closing time to avoid crowds;

Launch day for me now means quick trip to the mall after office, pick up in store and unboxing while enjoying a bacon+cheese burger at five guys.. f°'c yeah, this will be one of those fridays, can't wait.

Yep, mine just left Jiaxing, China.
Same. I was notified this morning.

One small thing with the Series 7 is I strongly dislike the midnight colour. I much prefer the space gray of my series 6.
I sort of like it. Black (like the 5’s stainless space black) would be ideal for me though. If midnight was available for the iPhone 12, on the other hand, I likely would have chosen it over black.

I agree, the space black was one of the best colours. I'm just not a fan of the blue in the midnight colour.

I ordered my 45mm Stainless Graphite watch (with Milanese loop) at 5:01am on Friday. My delivery date was already estimated Oct 18-20. Hopefully it gets here sooner.

For me, this will be a massive upgrade over the series 4. Once these units start arriving and get reviewed I feel like the series 7 is a bigger improvement than people seem to be giving it credit for.

I dislike starlight & midnight. Silvery and black are neutral and more timeless (pun).

Ugh!

I think starlight one of the best things Apple has done this year

Starlight is still neutral it’s just a slightly warmer silver

For me, black is the most boring and useless color of all. In most cases it also makes devices instantly look old, like how it gives the impression of bezels being much larger

From what I remember, in the UK, launch day deliveries tend to move to "preparing to ship" really quickly (ie. within minutes of placing the order) and then stay there until the night before delivery. We don't get to use the Santa tracker! I would guess it's the same for most of Europe.

Not that I'm over-excited about my delivery on Friday, but I did just setup my old cellular watch to prove to myself that I could move the data plan between watches as a trial run (ie. without accidentally creating a second subscription with Vodafone.) Service jumped over in just a few minutes. I think the method of doing this might depend on carrier.

Mine is still preparing to ship. Pretty much ordered as soon as UK store opened, but still got 19th s an estimated date. Still, I’m wearing a series 2 right now, so I can be patient

I don’t understand all the hate. If the exact same watch with all the same features would have been released in the rumored flat edge design, they would all call it the best Apple Watch update ever.
