Not thrilled about the band color config options on Apple’s site, even from the Studio. I know others have expressed this before but I’m now see the problems. Was looking to get the S7 with a Black Sports Loop or Braided Loop but it seems discontinued and I want none of these color options (considering my existing band collection). Curious about seeing these band colors in person. Kind of wish I can at least just buy the Watch itself without a band.

There are around 500,000 shipping containers sitting off the Port of Los Angeles at the moment. It’s causing massive back-ups and delays all across the supply chain. I ordered an iPhone 13 Pro Max on October 2 with an estimated arrival between 11/4 and 11/11. However, I won’t be surprised if this gets pushed back even further. It will be interesting to hear if everyone receives their Apple watches on the stated delivery date or not.

UGH... I totally MISSED the release date/presale. Nov 17-24th and I am leaving town on 11/23. LIKE ALWAYS.

Any idea if Apple stores will have ANY on release date for pick up?

I’ve started stalking my local Apple stores, and so far, nothing shows as being available for pickup for the launch weekend. Hopefully you’ll have better luck than me, and if not, fingers crossed that your watch comes in before your leave for your trip. 🤞My shipping dates are 11/2-9.

Apple ships their products by air, so container backlog should not be an issue in this case.

If anyone is planning to activate a cellular watch on T-Mobile, there is a $100 gift card promotion. But, if you already have an Apple Watch with a cellular connection, you have to be very specific on how to activate your watch to retain the promotion.

You must activate a new line rather than transferring your existing service to the new watch. Otherwise, it is not considered a new activation and your request for the promotional $100 gift card may be rejected.

Unfortunately, you most likely will have to keep your existing line active until the rebate is approved, even if there is no longer a watch associated with it. I went through all this with a T-Mobile rep and confirmed this is how the system works.

The problem is that the issues are spreading through the entire supply chain. Ground shipping is backing up now. And not just commercially, but will soon affect consumer shipping as well. The ships parked off the coast are going to affect every corner of the U.S. economy in the coming weeks.

The g/f used an affiliate link for a discount, and ordered within 10 minutes of pre-orders, she still has Friday am pickup at a local Apple store…so the gears are moving! ⚙️🎉

I don’t understand all the hate. If the exact same watch with all the same features would have been released in the rumored flat edge design, they would all call it the best Apple Watch update ever.

Agreed. I am actually happy they didn't go to the flat edge design for the watch. I think it looks clunky on someone's wrist, according to the renders. I love the flat design on the phones and iPads but not the watch.

I think this is all Jon Prosser's fault. Lol. He got everyone geared up expecting something radically different.

Apple flies everything... but yes, my products are waiting in a cargo ship off the coast of Los Angeles... for 2 weeks now.

I thankfully switched to in-store pickup a few years ago for almost all of my Apple items. It saves me from the tracking worries, shipping uncertainty with companies in my area, and porch pirates. My launch days have been so much less stressful!
I've been trying to figure out how to do this, but when I go to check out it says "unavailable for pickup" (which is expected because the product hasn't launched yet). I'm probably going to sound like an idiot asking this, but is there a way to preorder a new product and pick it up from the Apple Store on launch day?

Good luck my buddy! It appears that my Apple curse continues but I'm hopeful we each see BUMPS in our shipping dates. My series 3 needs this upgrade and I'd love to have the watch for my trip. No biggy... just wish I hadn't MISSED THE ANNOUNCEMENT of the presale. 🤣

I snagged the midnight Nike watch with the black sport loop. I'm kind of eyeing the orange Nike band now....

Which did you get?

Yep. Not enough longshoremen, not enough long-haul truckers, not enough local truckers. Just a few months ago, the thinking was things would improve by first quarter 2022, but now most people are suggesting it won’t be until 2023 before global logistics gets balanced out. Apple won’t be immune to the increasing costs of transportation either. They’re either going to have to take a hit in margin or bump costs up, over the next 6-12 months.

Hilarious - love your term, 'porch pirates'. I feel like a child at Christmas when I enter the  Store, Chermside. To me it is akin to Santa's workshop.

It actually means you’re unable to for the combo you’re selecting. Try changing the combo (if you’re open to it) or widening the area for pickup.

if it’s not a default but studio combo there is no way it’ll be available in store pickup.

Apple use airfreight.
Tim Cook is excellent at logistics and scheduling which Steve Jobs admired how Tim would have the assembly lines running cohesively and transporting products to eager customers in a timely fashion. Steve was the creative side of  and Tim is the practical in this business equation. What CD3660 said, that Apple utilise cargo planes to distribute their products around the world. They use two carriers within Australia to move their products by air and road. No bush kangaroos used to deliver my Apple stuff!
