A full keyboard is good. However a very minor update for the watch. Was expecting a redesign too which did not come true. Definitely no reason to upgrade from a Series 6.

Was the system processor upgraded? There was a rumor of that but nothing in the announcement. There are some nice incremental upgrades in the display but without a faster SIP 7 I'm not biting this year.

And I thought the 6 wasn't compelling enough to fork out more money after getting the 5. Love the screen, but my 5 will suffice. Great if you're in the market for your first watch, but no reason to upgrade if you're not.

I was hoping they'd at least have a "new and improved" blood oxygen sensor (last years is really unreliable).

Really hoping this comes to more languages. Responding to messages with anything other than dictation is impossible in my language, and that often doesn’t work very well.

And you're supposed to be able to type using your fingertips on that thing? How about a stylus instead?

This is just getting ridiculous. Apparently the Apple Watch software and hardware team have nails used in construction as fingers.

I love quickpath on my iPhone. It’s basically the only way to type when using the phone one handed (which I do a lot with my SE1). It would be better on iPad if it didn’t require using the annoying floating keyboard. I could see it being very useful on watch, though I imagine there will be a lot more typos with the tinier keyboard.

We are kidding with the "full keyboard" right? I can barely punch in my passcode. Now, we are going to add another 15 keys? I guess I should shrink my fingers.

ok, yeah it works with English language but what about others? after 2 years they still haven’t made swiping available for all languages

I really liked FlickType. Shame on Apple for not buying that developer out and instead pushing them out. Nasty and anticompetitive behavior.

Still on S4 here. The watch is simply not compelling enough to refresh more than once every few years with a balance of sustainability and tech features in mind. Looks like it will be at least 4 years but honestly I could see waiting until S9.

Anyone have any real world examples how this would be helpful? Best I can think of is you're on the can and forgot your phone. Maybe a meeting.

By itself, I change the "I" for the "o" when I write on my iPhone, I don't want to imagine what would happen with a microscopic keyboard for my fingers.

For me, I think that a lot of people are completely missing the point of the keyboard, at least what I feel is a huge benefit anyway. I sometimes go out on my bike without my phone, but I always wear my Apple Watch (Cellular). If I need to reply to a message, I use the dictation feature, which is almost always perfectly. BUT...It can sometimes get stuck on a certain word, or perhaps it's a certain non-word that I like to express myself with, and it'll never spell it correctly even if I tried for all eternity. So for me, a keyboard would be great correcting typos, or for certain mission-critical stuff. It's not for writing a sonnet.

Having said that, I'm still on the Series 3, and haven't been fully tempted to upgrade since. The keyboard and bigger screen has gotten me a little nearer, but I don't think I'm quite there yet. Perhaps the 8?

According to 9to5mac there’s no change in processor.
