It’s rumors like this that make me uninterested in rumors. When we’re this close to the launch of the latest iPhone and Watch, I’d much rather be pleasantly surprised by whatever we see and learn from Apple. If the Watch doesn’t have a in-store date until some time in October, so what? Is that really a delay, or just a delay in expectation, with dates initially set by prognosticators who in many cases are just guessing?

I’m excited to see if the Watch does indeed take on the iPad Pro / iPhone design cues, and hopefully they’ll continue offering stainless and titanium options, as I really want to upgrade my series 5 aluminum for a titanium version.

I see it like this;

Apple will announce series 7 along with new phones and other stuff in September. The only difference being that that the new watch will have a “ships in October” message at the end just like the iPad Air last year.

I was expecting November anyways after WWDC was a no-show. I will continue using my trusty 2015 MacBook Pro 15 in the meantime. It will keep me warm in my recliner in October and November.

I just came to groan about possible delayed MacBooks. I’m ready for a new 16” M1X upgrade, this old 16” intel MacBook Pro is just a dinosaur! :)

I plan to order quickly. I expect lead times to quickly move to a month and then two.

Right. Demand for the new ones seems stronger than I can ever recall for MBPs. I’d normally wait a month, but that might mean waiting another two months for delivery.

Huge pent-up demand with people buying the M1 stuff to tide them over. And then the disappointment with WWDC.

Watch announced in September, shipping early October. I believe the MacBook event will be late October, with the MacBooks shipping in November.

They’ve supposedly been in production since early August. That seems like a long time to stockpile before shipping, but we’ll see.

There are NO 16" macbooks available at any Apple store in Los Angeles. If that isn't a sign of them coming sooner, I don't know what is. I hope so.

Out of the 12 stores closest to me, six have them in the store right now. One other has them available tomorrow.

A BTO with 64 GB RAM and the highest GPU is out until October. I would guess that these 16 inch models will be available to corporate customers for quite some time after the 16 inch M1X models ship out.
