Hey look! It's just an Apple Watch.

But now we turned down the line height to fit more text onto the display!

I'm really surprised that I haven't heard more outcry from my fellow designers about that. I think Gruber may have touched on it, but it's kind of a BS claim on how much more text it can fit. Sure it can fit some more since it's a little bigger, but they definitely adjusted the typography too.

He is biased. If he weren't, Apple wouldn't be sending him devices early. Apple knows a lot of people watch his channel and look to him to tell viewers what to do.
What I like about him is that he isn’t acting the entire time. There are moments when he’s less than enthused about some products and other times he’s more cheerful. Of course he can’t openly criticize the products, but the disdain on his face is always obvious. I’d like to see him venture outside of Apple. I think he can do so much more.

All the cheap look aluminum ones. Where are the SS versions?
I‘m rather fond of my aluminum ones. To my eyes they look as good as the more expensive watches. However being lighter in weight, the silent alarm vibration is so much more noticeable on it, I’m able to turn off all sounds. Plus, I upgrade every year so it helps keep the cost of ownership down. I have no desire for the more costly/heavier metals.

Rene is so cringeworthy I can’t stand him. His video thumbnails are an embarrassment and his “analysis” is basically the press release from Apple PR.
Well that and his whiny voice which comes across as "please listen to me and buy buy buy from my favorite corporation until you're broke." There are good fair and comprehensive reviewers out there. He is not one. Probably why he doesn't have that many subscribers compared to others.

Where is the Green Nike sport band that many reviewers got? I don't see it on Apple's website.

edited to add: Never mind. I found it. The Cargo band on the Apple site doesn't really look green is what had been confused.

Do reviewers have to reveal if they are paid by the company?
Generally no. There’s no ethical rules governing them. Some reviewers like Akon Simon or Lisa don’t get early access and disclose they’re financial relationships if any. And guess what they’re more crucial. These other apple shills. They’re essentially advertisers ”reviewing” product. Say super negative and your access to apple, early releases and your early views are gone.

Just try to say something not entirely good about him on Twitter. He will come after you.

I've watched a few of Justine's review - they're very good plus she copied my band purchases, she loves purple and that's how I sleep too! The green is understated and classy and now is my second preference followed by red. Blue being first. I'm hoping a lavender coloured one comes out in future generations.

They are not paid. They are fed. Fed with review units of new products. So technically it's not a paid promotion but it's also a paid promotion. Apple let them have the ad revenue.
And getting the products themselves. If you're an unadulterated fanboy (or gal), what's better than getting every new product, for free, a week or so ahead of the commoners? It won't pay the bills like the ad revenue does, but its sparkly status symbol.

They don't get to keep the products.

They are review units and have to be sent back. I am sure.

They make money by having their channels get more views/subscribers which leads to ad revenue as well as sponsors.
Well, maybe it depends, because in these reviews a lot of the folks have damn near every apple product of previous years to compare back to. Maybe they just buy them later with their own ad revenue cash....
