Apple Watch Series 8 (2022): Everything We Know

The only thing I want is a true standalone Apple Watch. Today an iPhone is needed for the initial set up.

I understand that Apple stays within its own ecosystem, but it should be possible to set up the Apple Watch via iPad and/or Mac as well.

Since this article; Rockley Photonics stock dropped and is now recovering... perhaps due to having shipped pre-production models to a 'top tier' customer for evaluation and expected commercial introduction later THIS year (2022). I suspect it's Medtronics with Apple a possibility for some portions of the 'Bioptix' product ('Clinic on your Wrist').

Skip series 8!

Really, there will always be new things coming in new versions, just jump on when you are ready to ride and don’t worry about waiting for the perfect version. It’s never perfect for long.

Then skip series 9....oh wait, skip series 10.....forget just don't get one you just can't keep up with technology

I'd very much prefer the classic round. The question is, where do you put the complications?

hmmm - looking at the direction the iPhones, the iPads, and not the Watches have been going, all I see in the foreseeable future, is PERHAPS 2-3 days. We want small, fast, and long battery lifes - pick two!

The issue is "we" all want all 3
