They always hold back at least one for spring.
But those are exactly the things that a Fitbit does, and in many cases arguably better than an Apple Watch as it's a fitness/activity tracker first and foremost. The only exception would be LTE, you'd have to look at an alternative manufacturer like Garmin for that, but I think the OP was using the term Fitbit to refer to 'non-Apple fitness/activity watches' more than just that specific company. The days when these devices just counted how many steps you did a day are long gone.I have the cellular version and I'm able to do several things that don't require my phone. Running and biking. I would also say hiking but I like to take pictures. Apple pay is nice if you don't have your phone or wallet (don't think cellular is required for this). Water activities. I live in Texas so on the river, at the beach or at a water park. Can stay in communication with my family if we go different ways for a bit. I have teenagers, so I'm not cool enough to hang out with.
I don't think fitbit could help me with any of these things.
I’m excited to upgrade this year for this alone. The pre-Series 7 charging speed used to ‘feel’ fast to me, but sure doesn’t anymore.I would agree, but with the AW7 fast charging I generally only need to put it on my charger when I shower after AM workout and before I go to bed for 20 minutes or so. It doesn't disrupt my life.
What about a red ceramic? That would be interesting to seeI just wish they’d bring back ceramic.
Lol… it seems this post is missing the “/s” tag. This is one of the worst apple products ever. We have 3 Apple Watches, we don’t even bother to charge them anymore. We just wear them because they costed a lot of money lol
The only other watch that has the same capability as the AW with cellular is the Galaxy watch. Nothing else compares in functionality. I get the use of Fitbit in the comment. Why can’t I use it the same way that poster did?But those are exactly the things that a Fitbit does, and in many cases arguably better than an Apple Watch as it's a fitness/activity tracker first and foremost. When i went from the 4 to the 7 the charging speed was like “woah”.I’m excited to upgrade this year for this alone. The pre-Series 7 charging speed used to ‘feel’ fast to me, but sure doesn’t anymore.
Apple dupes many undisciplined and style conscious consumers like iPhonefan. By any standard the Apple Watch is a serious, feature rich device. And some (many?) never drill down. This is one of the worst apple products ever. We have 3 Apple Watches, we don’t even bother to charge them anymore. You can, but I thought the point you were making was that 'other devices' couldn't do those things you listed, my point is they can do every one of those if you extend that to Garmin, Suunto etc (including NFC payment and LTE), and often better than an AW. That's not to say they're an overall better watch, they lack Apple's 'polish' and don't offer everything the AW does outside of fitness (especially in terms of apps), but going back to the OP's question, he asked what AW offered above 'other devices' and as he specifically said he's not interested in apps, there's not such a compelling case, and certainly not one linked to activity tracking that I'm aware of.The only other watch that has the same capability as the AW with cellular is the Galaxy watch. You can pick your watch style and strap style at the time of purchase. But I agree that offering people the option to buy without a strap and a slight discount would be nice.Just sitting here waiting for the watch to be sold as a standalone case. By now you’d think the straps would be a separate purchase. Decreased extraneous packaging and buying just what you want. Le sigh. One day.
That's way better than just selling them. This is one of the worst apple products ever. We have 3 Apple Watches, we don’t even bother to charge them anymore. We just wear them because they costed a lot of money lol
That's totally fair and it's great that's working for you. For me having one more device I can almost forget about and just use it without watching its battery status or having it in my daily (charging) routine is a big plus. Also it's one less charger when travelling.I would agree, but with the AW7 fast charging I generally only need to put it on my charger when I shower after AM workout and before I go to bed for 20 minutes or so. I always end up settling on stainless steel, but it’s annoyingly heavy and just scratches so easily…
C…but with a black band. How would you prefer Apple does a new red shade? I can imagine it being more vibrant, darker, lighter... what else? My favorite from this quick mockup is C, but I'm sure others will have their own ideas.
Good point. Chargers for vacation, especially for the whole family….ugh, 🤮. Can’t wait tI’ll iPhone goes USB C so we only have 2 chargers to bring to cover iPad and/or Kindle as well. That's totally fair and it's great that's working for you.
