Just please bring back Silver in the base model. Also would be nice to purchase one without a band at a discount. I have plenty of bands!

Do they? I mean what does Apple Watch has over things like Fitbit? I'm not that interested in apps, I would always prefer to use those on my phone. Login into mac is also not that important since introduction of touch id. What else do you think is useful?
logging into your mac via apple watch is very very convenient. i didnt think i'd use it once i got the new M1 MBP but it just works. touchid is a good backup and when required, password is easy enough too.

C…but with a black band.

Never understood why Apple marketing of the colour aluminum watch had everything the same colour.
Yeah, me too. Apple's marketing photos showing the Red watch only with red bands and putting it in its own separate Apple Watch Studio configurator seem weird. It's easy enough to find images of the other aluminum colors with contrasting bands.

I understand that Product(Red) is special, but treating it like a totally different product makes it seem like fewer people would actually buy one.

I wasn't that interested with smartwatches when they first surfaced, but the feature set is becoming better and better, so maybe it's the time to get one. I'm just not sure about getting Apple Watch or something simpler just for fitness.
I had the same thought years ago. Went with a higher end fit bit. It broke. Did a warranty return. The next one broke. 6 months in. Bought at Apple Watch at that point. 25x the usefulness and integration (simply pinging my phone ALONE is almost worth the extra cost) and it lasted 3 years without a scratch. (I got the stainless version the first time).

Sincerely - not just from a apple fan perspective - do yourself a favor and get an Apple Watch. If you want to save some cash, but an older series or the SE. seriously.

This is one of the worst apple products ever. We have 3 Apple Watches, we don’t even bother to charge them anymore. We just wear them because they costed a lot of money lol
That is how Apple likes to see the consumers use/wear them.

Get gps cellular version for sure - it is surprising all the cool stuff it does.

I'm hoping the Series 8 has some advancements over the Series 7 as I really regret going to graphite SS from having every other AW model in silver SS.
I’m curious why you regret Graphite. Been thinking about getting one some day.

At what point after 1 did you buy 2 more if you thought they were bad ?
Because the other two weren’t mine, they were from my family and I did notice they didn’t really use them but I thought it was because they don’t work out. I do work out everyday and this thing it’s nothing but a glorified heart rate monitor, it can’t even sleep track.

My guess is Apple will be holding back colors from launch, then in spring come out with one-two new color variations. Just makes sense to get a marketing boost for "free" and tempt users to sidegrade to a different color 6 months from now.

Yeah I absolutely hate that they are doing this. And they seem to hold back the best color as well. I don’t understand why they are doing this, beyond the obvious “we hate our users and love money” angle that I don’t want to believe is true but I haven’t seen a better explanation.

Apple dupes many undisciplined and style conscious consumers like iPhonefan. By any standard the Apple Watch is a serious, feature rich device. And some (many?) never drill down.
What features does it have? Apple can’t even put 10 useful things to do with the Watch on their website.

You can pick your watch style and strap style at the time of purchase. But I agree that offering people the option to buy without a strap and a slight discount would be nice.

“The watch itself starts at $999. Optional wristband available for $199.”

Careful what you wish for.

The word discount is not in Apple’s vocabulary.

It wasn’t useful wearing it charges either. The only thing you would use it for is for notifications. 500 dollars for notifications in your wrist? Gtfo
The only thing *you* would use it for is notifications. I use it for other things.

I do think it is expensive and while it is something I do like and think is best in class for my use case, it isn't something I recommend to people because of the cost.

But it certainly isn't useless to me.

The Apple Watch - for me - has become the 2nd most important Apple product after the iPhone. Responding to messages, fitness device, music player combined with AirPods Pro, occasionally a phone call, sleep tracking, ApplePay, etc etc. I owned the Series 0, 3,4 and now 6. Charging is not a problem at all. I wear the watch basically 24/7. it is charged 30min each in the morning and in the evening right before and/or after sleep. Great device!
