The series X coming out next year with the rumored redesign sounds like a better and smarter upgrade for Series 6/7/8 owners. I‘ll upgrade my S7 next year.
The rumor from many analysts was for last year. Just goes to show rumors mean nothing and we shouldn’t live our lives centered around them. The series X coming out next year with the rumored redesign sounds like a better and smarter upgrade for Series 6/7/8 owners. I‘ll upgrade my S7 next year.
Agreed and I'm doing the same. I was going to buy a new band anyway. With the trade in the new watch will only cost $160 plus the cost of the band.I'm getting the new model nine in Red. I trade in my model eight and get the 9 for less than $250. I don't want to spend a whole year envying the SIP 9. Also trade in value is at it's best now. It makes more sense to trade in the aluminum models every year for the pleasure of it. It's a different story for the Stainless steel and Titanium models.
The fact that it took a processor bump to enable things like On Device Siri strongly implies it was due a bump.Bizarre mindset. If there was nothing wrong with the processing power before (I agree, by the way!) then why was it “overdue” for an increase?

Exactly, every year it’s like oh wait til next year. The watch wont be exciting again til Micro LED is affordable or they put in a glucose or blood pressure sensorThe rumor from many analysts was for last year. Agreed.I just wonder how far they can really go. The thing is all screen and I can’t see the form factor really changing much other than what they did with the ultra already. If this is the last year of standard bands i def wanna upgrade this year cus I love one of my custom third party bands and don’t want it to become useless.
I got my Series 7 cellular at launch lots of exercise, hiking and biking tracking using cellular. Battery health is 94% I’m good for another year.Series 7 and would like the extra brightness but not worth it, I’ll wait for next year
I think Apple knows it’s time for a redesign. If that happens next year is the big question, but it will be the tenth version of the Apple Watch so that milestone may deserve something “special” which I assume would be a redesign of some sort, perhaps involving the new magnetic bands and the patent we saw last year. The rumors have said there is a redesign for the last few years. I wouldn't count on it.
Yeah, big internal upgrade this year, followed by an external change next year. The fact that it took a processor bump to enable things like On Device Siri strongly implies it was due a bump.
Apple never seems to know when its time for redesigns… the imac was the same for a decade, the magic mouse, the Mac mini, etc. They rehash tired designs ad nauseam. Why do iPhones still have such an ugly camera cluster? They cant redesign that to be attractive like the completion?. I remember when i first saw that design in thought it was a joke, now ages later and we still have it.I think Apple knows it’s time for a redesign. I wear my Speedmaster or Milgauss when I wear a suit or have a meeting. My Apple Watch Ultra is my everyday watch. Well besides my standard black swatch. In my line of work a smart watch in a meeting is taboo.Honestly more than other Apple products, the AW can be considered a fashion device.
The AW Ultra, as good as it is, isn't as appropriate for certain settings as the regular Apple Watch. If I am wearing a navy suit to a meeting, for example, and I want to wear and AW for some reason, good to have the option of the Series 6 SS, or even something like a Midnight aluminum watch.
For the last 3 years, people have continuously moaned how the chip is the same, this year it's a massive 30% increase in power, double the storage a finger gesture that actually works, a faster Siri, a much brighter display and people are still moaning 🫨.
The new Apple Watch Series 9 and Apple Watch Ultra 2 will begin arriving to customers and launch in stores on Friday. Ahead of time, select media outlets and YouTube channels have shared the first reviews of the watches.

Key new features for both Apple Watch models include brighter displays, up to a 30% faster S9 chip, a "Double Tap" gesture for interacting with the watches without touching the screen, an increased 64GB of internal storage, and more.
Many reviews agree that the Apple Watch Series 9 and Ultra 2 are iterative upgrades that likely aren't worth upgrading to from a Series 8 or the original Ultra.

You can pair multiple watches with an iPhone and just toggle them on in the settings app, depending on which one you're usingDo you have to constantly unpair a watch when you switch to the other ones you have or is there a method to pair all 3 watches to one phone?
Your face will definitely peel right off come Friday. You will be big time then.I’m upgrading from a Series 4 to an Ultra 2 so I’m preparing for my face to melt off. Just having an always on display is a big deal for me, lol.
Hmm, but with the brighter screen and Siri on devise, the previous watches wouldn't last 18 hrs....do u get the point? The battery life is unchanged. It’s still the same “🤡 great all-day battery life.”
The Series 9 ss would make more sense, it will only be $100 more in that scenarioI'll wait for the redesign Apple Watch X and then straight up buying a second hand Series 8 Stainless Steel. Whenever a brand new design comes out the existing model will depreciate even further, which is truly a steal.
