Really don’t know whether to upgrade to Series 9 or not. Currently, I have two watches, a Series 4 SS Space Black & a Series 5 SS. Also have matching link bracelets for both, plus a fairly large collection of sport & loop bands.

Rarely wear the Series 5, as I far prefer the Space Black. Very disappointed that Space Black is now restricted to Hermes.

Have thought about upgrading to Series 9 Hermes (to get Space Black again), but just cannot justify the price premium, so I am considering trading in both current watches and getting the Series 9 in graphite. I’ve previously seen the Series 7/8 graphite models in store and like the colour, but keep thinking that the fact that neither of my link bracelets will match the graphite perfectly will annoy me….but then again, using either of the link bracelets with the graphite would be acceptable (think the Space Black bracelet would be the better ’match’ though)

Rumours of next years Watch being a big upgrade just makes the decision on whether to upgrade so much harder. I will probably want the new design and the addition of a blood pressure sensor would be a feature that would attract me, so logic says I should wait another year…but on the flip side, I want to be able to keep using my existing collection of bands (especially the link bracelets), so am concerned that next years watch is rumoured to use a new mechanism for the watch straps…upgrading now could be my last chance to make the most of my band collection.

What should I do?!?
I had the space black 4 ss, I liked it a lot.
However I've recently got an 8ss in space grey, to be honest it's just as nice, I would't pay for the Hermes, just to get a space black personally

Why not upgrade one this year and then the other next year?

I have a series 5 and don’t plan to upgrade until the rumored series X redesign. Other than the bigger screen of the current gen watches, there isn’t really anything new that I need

Apple never seems to know when its time for redesigns… the imac was the same for a decade, the magic mouse, the Mac mini, etc. They rehash tired designs ad nauseam. Why do iPhones still have such an ugly camera cluster? They cant redesign that to be attractive like the completion?. I remember when i first saw that design in thought it was a joke, now ages later and we still have it.
The camera cluster is what I suspect will be changed.

I'm finally upgrading for a Series 5. I never thought I'd want or like the AWU until I tried one on in an Apple Store. My 5 seems so small after that. Looking forward to the upgrade!

You have to upgrade if your screen popped off due to battery expanding And it’s not worth to pay Apple to fix it

Series 7 here. Will update to iPhone 15 but not the watch.
Can I extend the question here a bit (did not find any better place...)

Is anybody swimming in the pool with an Ultra? I just never ever seen one. And I don't think I would use it. In the ocean... yes maybe.

Now on the Fitness app. I know some improvements have been implemented...
Our household is completely Apple, you can even call me a fan boy.
But dear Apple, I am very close to get a Garmin. (grrr...)

On the History, why is there no time next to the distance?
The new filter function. Swimming combines Pool Swim and Open Water Swim into one list?

I can already see the responses: you need to get this and that App. That's not the point. Apple should be seen as a leader in this space. These details matter.

The series X coming out next year with the rumored redesign sounds like a better and smarter upgrade for Series 6/7/8 owners. I‘ll upgrade my S7 next year.

Gotta remember that a "redesign" can often be negative, especially in the first year. IMO the next big upgrade cycle will be driven by new functionality rather than a redesign. Going to a new design that requires new bands, for example, with little new tech advancement, would actually be a negative

The Series 9 ss would make more sense, it will only be $100 more in that scenario
In my country, it will be around $175 more for stainless steel S9 vs S8. For the aluminium, the difference is a mere $75. But I have my eyes set on the SS model, so... ✨👀

Sticking with the AW 6. No new sensors except for temperature. What useful functionality is added besides a bigger screen and with the Ultra models, dual GPS radios for better precision locations in challenging settings, but the 14 P, PM and 15 P, PM have the dual GPS radios as well?

You think Apple is purposefully withholding killer feature upgrades each year?

Increasingly, this forum is full of people with completely unrealistic expectations.
Yeah, I genuinely think so. I've been buying the iPhone since it came out and they nailed it every time they introduced a new phone up to the X. The updates were meaningful even OS-wise. Now they are calling new screensavers a feature, I mean look at the official Apple page and search for new features in Sonoma.

What's new with iPhones this year? A USB-C and a configurable action button? Well to me and many others, these are no features. For someone upgrading from like an XS I can understand the update is very big, but I have no point in upgrading over my 13 Pro Max.

And emojis. Don’t forget about the emojis. 😂
