A performance boost? In what way can they boos the performance from the series 8 besides making it go maybe a 1/10th of a second faster? They can't do much with battery outside of very marginal improvements due to the size of the battery they are limited to. Just curious on what a watch that is already blazing fast can improve on performance wise?
It's not blazing fast at all. It's actually quite a dog. Have you even used one?

If they don't finally add support for band 71 which effects T-mobile greatly, im gonna be mad lol. 4 generations of devices and they still cant implement a a necessary band. Its even a 5G band too so its not like band 71 is going away anytime soon.

Prior to my S6, I was using Fitbit. Had to replace my Fitbit every year because they were made no better than a digital watch you could get from a dollar store.

The durability of my S6 has become my favorite feature, but it would sure be nice to see Apple implement a lighter design and long-rumored features. Top wish list items: glucose and blood alcohol levels; mood / anxiety indicators; more exercises to track.

This was definitely them getting their wires crossed with the Ultra, or they just all got fooled completely by fake leaks. There is no way Apple completely scrapped and redesigned the S7 under two months before launch like the rumors claimed.

I would welcome a smaller size version ultra, just to exist.

whether or not I’d buy-not sure

A performance boost is a welcome improvement. Nothing else really need to be improved.

Are you serious?!  hasn’t improved battery life at all!! It’s ridiculous and don’t tell me to get the Ultra. Apple has had 7 generations to markedly improve battery life and haven’t. It’s very frustrating.

They’re seriously testing on their laurels now in regards to the watch.

I wish they’d make it thinner. Apple needs a separate product line for people who want thin, sexy devices like they used to make. Then they can keep making chunky, heavy devices for people who need sleep tracking and all that crap.

I don’t care about all day battery life. I wear my Apple Watch for about 10 hours a day and take it off and put it on the charger when I get home.
Apple Watch Air?

so they should make a device that meets exactly YOUR needs and no-one else's, gotcha

I suppose the old saying applies here: “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!”. Design-wise at least lol. Always good to see new features etc. I’m sure at some point we will see a substantial change to the design (the ultra sort of feels like proof that they are willing to attempt it) but at the same time the current design is quite an appealing look to most people and has become iconic in some ways. With the watch not being nearly as big of a hit as the phones, I can see the reasoning for sticking with the iconic design because it helps them standout and remain the leader in this space. It’s a coveted signal and easily recognizable when you wear one. I think most people are waiting or hoping for a flat edge design that matches the phones and iPad but I feel like it won’t come until Apple nails something perfect down first. It’s a boring, but solid product at this point. Would love to see a smaller Ultra somehow or some of that design language and functionality to come to the normal watch. The Ultra is simply just too big for a lot of people’s wrists.

Wonder if we'll ever see what S7** was rumored to be

or if scrapped / was never real in first place
haha, the was a fake, Prosser basically disappeared as a "leaker" ever since ...

I agree. Until we see some major developments in battery and sensor technology, I expect that plateau to continue. There isn't much Apple could add to the Watch today. The wow-factor healthy features people keep hoping for, like blood sugar monitoring, obviously aren't ready for prime time.
blood pressure exists, Samsung has a watch that has it ...
CGM is a few years away, I agree

interesting from yesterday's earnings call was that 2/3 of AWs were sold to new (AW) customers, so the market is still there, just for upgrade it feels like iPhone

The 8 was barely an update. First year I didn't update. I hope this rumor is wrong, would really like to update this year.

As I said in another thread, CPU is pointless with it being so software limited in its functions, it feels like AAPL intentionally made it limited so people would still buy iPhones and not try to use it as a stand alone
