I have an Apple Watch SE A2351 with WatchOS 9.4.
For the last month or so (maybe ever since upgrading to 9.4), Siri very consistently stops responding to commands on the first try.
Siri always says it’s having trouble understanding and to try again.
I repeat the exact same command in the exact same way and it always works. Then, I try another different Siri requst right away and it works for however long the session is “fresh.”.
If I wait some significant amount of time, the same issue returns. Its almost as if Siri is going to sleep and doesn’t wake up properly until the second request.
I’m having the same issue with both pressing the crown and using raise to talk.

I have already tried restarting both the watch and the phone. I even tried unpairing the watch and setting up again as new.
Those fixes are only temporary. Siri not being able to respond to queries until attempt 2 always eventually returns.

I’m wondering if somehow the watch is now physically and permanently defective or if this a bug in 9.4 that may be fixed in an update.

Has anyone seen similar issues and are there any fixes?

After updating to WatchOS 9.5, the issue is improved, but not fully solved.
Immediately after the upgrade, it seemed to be fixed, but it didn’t last.
The problem just happens less frequently now than it did with 9.4.
