The most scary thing I feel is that we have some very sad human beings here that feel they are in a position to judge others simple due to the store they wish to purchase an item from.

You should be shamed of yourself for deeming any other person as less than you due to where they purchase anything.

No person is in any way better than anyone else.

We are all born equal and will all dies equal.

Treat everyone with respect.

The Apple snob factor, which mean that some sad individuals try and pretend that they are in some way better than others is something we all should wish to distance ourselves fri=om as much as possible.

Who are these people you are referring to? Please be specific.

Yeah, that's what I thought. No one. Oooooh, yes, scary indeed.

I worked at Walmart and I actually knew my stuff working in electronics department and so did the rest of my team. I don't know what Walmarts Mac 128 went to but it surely wasn't my store.
Well I just went to Walmart today. Once again employees being busy bees keeping store stocked. Friendly clerks. Good people.

In before "I can't believe Apple would sell at Wal-Mart because I spent $400 on a watch to be exclusive so people can look at me in a way that makes me feel better about myself."
You are throwing gas on a fire where none exists.

It surely wasn't. I've driven across the country in an RV and spent many a night "camping" in Wal-Mart parking lots. I would argue I've experienced the widest array of Wal-Mart experiences than anybody else on this forum. I spent many years in small Southern towns where Wal-Mart is the only retailer. From major Southern CA, to the Northeast, to the Midwest, to the deep South, to the NorthEast, I've seen them all. And they are almost all exactly the same. If what you are saying is true, then you sir were a rare exception to your company overall. I truly wish I'd seen even a minimal example of your competence in any Wal-mart, but it's just not been my experience. I didn't even know the electronics departments at Wal-Mart had "teams", or even employees to clean up the display areas.

Walmart has been selling iPhones, iPads and iPods for a long time so adding the Apple Watch to their current Apple product mix doesn't surprise me very much.

For starters, all of those prexisting product deals were prior to Pay. So if nothing else, Apple would have withheld a device for which Pay was a primary selling point, until Wal-Mart agreed to take Pay. Second, iPhones and iPads are self explanatory stand-alone devices of a utilitarian nature. Apple has consistently marketed the Watch as the most personal product they've ever made, and one that has been positioned more as a fashion item than an electronic gadget. Selling it as such a commodity in the electronics section of a major chain discount store when there are so many other more knowledgable retail outlets to pick up the watch, changes the image of the device. And what happened to Macy's and Nordstrom? Add to that it's an accessory to the phone and as such needs to be "sold" by a well informed salesperson with proper training, something I have a hard time believing Wal-mart or Target employees will receive.

If the Watch were marketed as just another tech product, I'd agree with you. But it's not. And it's all the more insulting that Wal-mart not only refuses to offer Pay, but is offering a competing payment system. At least Target is offering it online and promises to offer it in store, possibly even as a inducement to carry the watch ... Now I'm not so sure, or Apple has gotten desperate.

I don't understand this move at all.

To me, this just feels like the Apple Watch has not been selling anywhere near as well as Apple hoped, and they're trying to unload stock.

Right. The same reason Walmart has been selling iPhones. Because Apple is trying to unload stock as iPhones are not selling anywhere near as well as Apple hoped.

Even at $100 off - It's still somewhat pricey for what it does. I'm glad I waited for the Best Buy deal, but I think the next hardware revision will be better off - it definitely needs more battery life and horsepower. Some apps like Starbucks are just very slow for me.

So that's why Apple sells iPhones at Walmart, and have been doing since 2008? why would Walmart want stock of something that isn't selling?

Did not Angela toot that the Apple Watch 'buying experience' should be akin to buying a fine luxury watch like a Patek Philipe or Rolex? Because Walmart would be my first choice to get THAT experience

well it is made in Taiwan, so the "buying experience" at Walmart is just about right.

I agree. I was in the Apple store last night, for about 20 minutes. Not a single person came to the Apple Watch table the entire time I was there.

The store overall was very busy. The Apple Watch table was like a ghost town.

Agreed. I'm not surprised at all and I understand Apple going for market penetration. I still don't like it, but I'm not running one of the most successful businesses of all time.
