It's a business. They don't just spend a big chunk of dollars developing a product solely for the tech world. Ask yourself why Apple are so successful? They cater everyone. They don't just bump the specs to wow the tech world, (look how many of you "disappointed" at how Apple didn't give you the specs you wanted for your lovely device?) they improved their products using the thinking on how their products help improve the end user's life in general. Example: The camera on the iPhone 6 has the same megapixels, but all the changes are the lenses and sensors (which is the unsung heroes in crediting for good pictures, do normal people talk about lenses and sensors on a phone camera or do they just care about the megapixels? *looking at Nokia ads*) and honestly, I love the new camera on the 6.
