42. Check out his Twitter account. He's given lots of impressions on the Watch. And let's just say they're the complete opposite of Nilay Patel's. :)

lol. Sunglasses? Really? What are they, the Samsung secret service? They're probably scaring customers away.

Wow, suits and sunglasses. That is just stupid.

Apple has been laying it on the line year after year in their keynotes, practically giving their secrets away on how to be a good company, create and deliver good products and customer service, yet companies like Microsoft and Samsung just don't have the aptitude to listen and understand.

One more reason to add Nilay Patel to my blacklist. I do like Verge but some of their employees really need to hide their personal vendetta against Apple well. It's one thing to write an honest opinion, it's another to write misinformation on purpose. I wonder how much Samsung pay him? ;)

Reviews from an average customer is much more appreciated these days.

Don't you think this might have something to do with the fact that us kiwis don't have a single Apple Store? Where would they sell it?

Up until a couple of years ago it would've been Magnum Mac, but they lost the license to sell products here and thus all closed down. Cyclone have picked up the contract but they have even less stores than MM did!

Be interesting if the Watch is allowed to be sold at normal retailers like Noel Leeming, etc.

Well Ben Bajarin is clearly in the Apple camp. ;) But Nilay Patel is in no way objective. Glad to hear he got schooled on CNBC this morning.

Link? I'm a little slow.

I'm assuming that's the stainless steel version?

Yep.

Thanks for the initial updates/thoughts from those who have tried - really useful.

The various comments about the length (or lack of) queues are missing the main objective I think. I'd guess the real point of Ahrendts' statement about removing lines are for PR purposes. The big media stories during the iPhone 6 launch were that 8 out of 10 people were placed there to bulk buy for onward sale to places such as China. Others were there wearing sponsored t-shirts to market non Apple stuff.

Bad PR all round for Apple when the world sees aged and confused non English speaking people being asked by the media why they were there rather than the previous waves of excited early adopters. Same with people trying to jump in front of the camera to talk about an unrelated Kick-Starter project.

With the online order process and limits of 1 or 2 watches per customer, the above issues are largely eliminated. End result likely that majority of people who may end up in-line on Day-1 (if any), will be there to pick up their pre-orders - ie real customers who, if shown on tv/in the media, will better reflect the image Apple wants to portray.

Good points. Also, the online store can be beefed up to handle more traffic, as well as give customers more reliable, more positive info about availability and delivery dates.

Very good experience to try on the watch this morning, I would highly recommend a try on as the size of the watch is a lot smaller than the website seems to show. Also nice to experience it on the wrist.

That's what i've been saying all morning. They are so much smaller than everyone thinks.

Do you happen have any links for that? I think I am going to enjoy that one :p

Why? Illogical statement is illogical.

Anyway back on topic, I'll be interested to see how hard the servers get hammered tonight. That should be an interesting indication of how much demand there is.

Have you actually seen a "man" in skinny jeans? Enough said.

Thanks for the heads up Aussie peeps!

Lines look awfully short.

For a try on? You think? It's not going on sale yet.......

If you live in a large urban center that's basically all you will see lol. I think it depends on the type but works for some guys.

It's 12:22 EDT and I still haven't decided if I'm buying the watch. Decisions, decisions...

Oh boy, I really hope that it isn't. That would be one hell of a disservice to such a product -- to sell it at a place like Noel Leeming.

Odd. Does anyone know why they not allowing people to really use the try-on watches?
Because people would then start asking questions. The try on experience is just that - to try on the watches and see which one you like best. Imagine trying on the actual watch then spending an hour with a specialist asking questions when there are other people in a queue waiting to try it on - not the best experience.

Not as scary as the gestapo-looking security guy inside the Microsoft store at the Mall of America! Super creepy uniform and just stood there staring at people.

I've rarely seen someone come off as world class clown on air like good ol' Nigel. What are his qualifications, can he dress himself?

Mr Supercilious produced a superficial fluff review, with fails at wit and substance (one should at least succeed in one or the other); even a non tech anchor looked like a tech genius compared to mister.

Looks like he used Apple as a way to gain notoriety. Not sure looking like a doufus sells anything though.

I've got nothing against a negative review as long as its arguments are solid and it comes from seemingly using the product / service extensively. That's not what that this guy put out!
