I’m at 28hrs off the charger and have 67% left on my Ultra 2:

Comments about battery levels after x numbers of hours are meaningless without knowing what settings are enabled. OAD, frequency of measurements, even ambient temperature and light can all impact this.

You know what I like about the Ultra? The fact that I can fly from the USA to Japan and still have a full day’s charge when I land. That was a game changer from the days when I would have to swap from a dying series six to my older charged series five 3/4 of the way across the Pacific, or wear one of my Omegas on my opposite wrist.

It’s just been 2 days but battery life is improved over the Ultra, though a bit too early for final judgement
Interesting I was actually just going to come on here today after the weekend and complain that my launch day Ultra had BETTER battery life after a full year than this new Ultra 2 brand new.

Will wait a few days but the new watch is def not lasting with as much power as the original. Granted, still no issues at the end of the day being in the upper 70s still left.

I’m impressed that my Ultra battery health is still at 100% after one full year. My 14 Pro was down to 93% after just 11 months of use. Will be making use of the 80% toggle on the new 15 Pro.
I was similar.. launch day Ultra and 14 Pro… Ultra with almost always on, night/day for 365 days still had 100% battery health while Pro 14 was at 89%…

Did you setup as new or restore?
I setup as new and deleted all apps it installed and turned background refresh off for most apps, plus, when I upgraded my Ultra to 10 last week it installed the “News app widget” which continued to try to fetch news and I just removed the news app from my phone to stop that.
My settings on the 2 are the same for all I can tell and my usage is not changed, but as of typing this, after 30hrs of counted usage and a total of about 140 mi. Workout over 2 days Ultra 2 is at 58%, on the Ultra would have been right around 50%.
So for me, better battery life with same usage pattern, all this after not quite 3 days of usage…

First let’s have an update to fix the compass app. On my brand new ultra 2 . No long/lat or waypoint capabilities. WTH. Really the big selling point is location and able to navigate in areas where cell of WiFi is unavailable . Fix the ultra 2 watch.

Really hoping for a 44mm Ultra 3. Im pretty shocked apple left people with thin wrists out with the huge current model. I’d love to get an Ultra but it would nearly eclipse my entire wrist and look absurd imo. I’ll gladly accept the marginally lower battery life (the way I do now with the 41mm being less than the 45mm).

great, I can now justify spending another $799 for 4% more battery
Apple just added enough new software to draw more power. That 4% will be a push if that. All that new stuff may use much more then 4%. Net Zero if lucky! 🤔

Having just upgraded from a Series 6 to an Ultra 2, I am very happy to report I’m currently at 45 hours since my last full charge and still have 43% battery remaining.

In that time, I’ve done two workout sessions, I keep my watch on my wrist at all times, and I’ve used it for shopping, taking a couple of calls on the fly, and pretty much the same stuff I did with my Series 6. The battery on that was down to 76% capacity so I was barely able to keep 12 hours charge and felt my watch lived on my charger.

I get the Apple Watch isn’t brilliant when compared to Garmins, but if I can get more than 2 days on standard mode with cellular enabled, I’m keen to learn what I can do with cellular off and also in battery saver mode….

Yup, I always setup as new and delete a helluva lot of apps… my normal setup process but the Apple News point you make, might be something I need to address.

Not sure if anyone else has had same results but after updating to the 10.0.2, battery life in Ultra 2 a lot better. For instance right now I’ve had it on for over 11 hrs and still 87% battery, this is better than I had gotten with Ultra1. Before update, I’d be sitting around 78-80 right now.
