Other than 5G, the main change is the LTPO3 display that allows for seconds hand on watch faces. I like that feature on my Series 10. Other than that I am not sure whether it is worth upgrading from Ultra 2.
£95 here in the UK for a new battery to be installed. Costco selling Ultra 3 for £724.99. Music magpie offering £220 for my old watch.getting the Ultra3 - yes, not a lot of new stuff with regards to the Ultra2, but after 2 years I'd like a fresh battery
totally fine - for me the upgrade is worth it - all things considered£95 here in the UK for a new battery to be installed. Costco selling Ultra 3 for £724.99. Music magpie offering £220 for my old watch.
The only issue would be if you’ve not reached the minimum percentage on your battery that they’ll replace it, which I think is 82% or lower.
I think for me the £95 is the better option.
You’re probably better off getting a Garmin if you are a serious runner needing reliable gps and metrics + as a bonus you multiply your battery lifeI run long distance and this summer every time I run a 10k it register a KM like about many meters afterwards.
From 40 meters to like up to a whopping 200M which ****s up my pace I believe when running.
I know it does since it happens on the track when I clearly did a full lap and it registers it later like what the ****.
I really hope this doesn't happen with my Ultra 3 or Timmy is a bum!
Well, it will be 2 years before we get U4.Watch is just something I can't upgrade yearly. I always been waiting for new health features. U2 to U3 has none. U2 will stay on wrist till it dies or apple gives us something that really could be life changing.
If you don't mind me asking, what is your qualified discount, I am in similar boat as you.I loved my Ultra 2 so much that I thought I’d absolutely skip the next version, but I placed an order for an Ultra 3 this evening. With my qualified discount of $719 plus my trade-in value of $335, it brings my cost to $384.
Considering that I also get a new Trail Loop out of this and an extra charging cable, that gives me even more value. I got two full years of 24/7 use out of my AWU2 (except for charging while showering) and while the battery in my AWU2 is still doing great at 96%…it is probably safe to assume that if I kept it another 2 years, then a $99 battery replacement would come due at some point in time, especially since I wear my watch around the clock.
I routinely run with just my watch and no phone, and I am routinely out of all cell phone range at least 8 days a month, so the satellite connectivity will be very handy for me. Excited about the upgrade!
My only complain about the Ultra 1 is the battery drained after using the workout app for more than 1hr. I literally need to charge it daily. The Ultra 3 battery life is not so much better, so I'll pass. Will keep my Ultra 1.
Definitely. You will love the Ultra.I'm upgrading to the U3 from an S4. I imagine it'll feel like a big jump, but the S4 has served me well.
No.Do you need to have a cellular plan for Satellite SOS?
That’s factually untrue in many noticeable ways. You’ve obviously not owned a series 10.s9 and s10 are the same, bruh
No problem. It’s the military discount. Best wishes for determining if an upgrade is right for you!If you don't mind me asking, what is your qualified discount, I am in similar boat as you.
I'm talking about the chips not the watches BRUH I'm not dumb. That’s factually untrue in many noticeable ways. You’ve obviously not owned a series 10.

Apple Watch Series 10 vs. Series 9: Should You Upgrade?
The Apple Watch Series 10 is the company's slimmest smartwatch—and it comes in titanium. But is it a notable upgrade over the Series 9? We're here to tell you.www.pcmag.com
What we needed from the Apple Watch Ultra 3 was all of the features that it received, and then a lot more. New health sensors, and a front facing camera on the side of the watch for pictures and video and a camera on the watch face for selfies, pictures, videos and both FaceTime and messenger video calls. This would be a complete game changer for the Apple Watch and make it totally worthwhile. Hopefully someone at Apple is listening!!!
The Apple Watch Ultra 3 replaces the second-generation model that was introduced two years ago in Apple's smartwatch lineup, but how different are the two successive smartwatch generations?

The two Apple Watch Ultra models share the overwhelming majority of their features, so should you consider buying or sticking with the second generation to save money? This breakdown serves as a way to see all the differences that the Ultra 3 brings to the table.
The Apple Watch Series 11 represents one of the smallest upgrades to the mainstream model ever, while the Apple Watch Ultra 3 provides a bit bigger but still modest change compared to its predecessor.
Apple Watch Ultra 2 Apple Watch Ultra 3 OLED display Wide-angle OLED display LTPO2 display LTPO3 display 410 by 502 pixel display 422 by 514 pixel display 1185 sq mm display area 1245 sq mm display area (5% larger) S9 chip S10 chip LTE and UMTS connectivity LTE and 5G connectivity Satellite connectivity Emergency SOS via satellite 2.178 watt-hour battery 2.313 watt-hour battery (6% larger) Fast-charge 0–80% in about 1 hour Fast-charge 0–80% in about 45 minutes
Overall, the Apple Watch Ultra 3 is a fairly minor upgrade over the second-generation model, with the most substantial changes focusing on the display. The new Apple Watch Ultra's display is a little larger, and it now features wide-angle OLED and LTPO3 for better viewing angles and a higher refresh rate when lowered, meaning there is a persistent ticking seconds hand on some watch faces.
It features 5G connectivity for the first time alongside Emergency SOS via satellite, bringing two iPhone features to the Apple Watch. Battery life is slightly better and the device charges to 80% 15 minutes faster, but there are few upgrades of substance.
It will likely not be worth upgrading from an Apple Watch Ultra 2 to an Ultra 3, even though they come two years apart. The Apple Watch Ultra 2 gains all of the same health features as the Ultra 3, and even its S9 chip has the same CPU as the S10; the S10 is simply a more compact version of the S9, so don't expect a performance boost. Owners of the first-generation Apple Watch Ultra from three years ago may have more reason to get the latest device, but it is far from an essential upgrade.
