I'm currently using se 1, I wanted to upgrade to Se 3 or series 10 last year but it wasn't a revolution and there was no SE 3... Now I just want a new watch with LONG watchOS support and no need to buy a new one in few years...
so you do know that even if your device (watch, iPhone, Mac etc) does not receive OS updates anymore it still continues to function, right? and usually you see security updates for several year.
IF longest OS support is your main criteria you should always buy the latest tech, not devices that have been on the market of 1+ years.

I have an ultra 1 and using Siri to do anything is a terrible experience. Try setting a simple timer and tell me it doesn't need a substantial speed increase
if memory serves with the S9/Ultra2 on device Siri was introduced, I have given that some tries on my Ultra 2 and can't complain. on older watches it requires internet connection and a faster processor will not really help.

If nothing is working over LTE, I would double check that you can MAKE & RECEIVE Calls. I had an issue with T Mobile once when I upgraded & they had set up the LTE incorrectly. I could make calls but not download data or receive calls.

I haven't checked if I can make/recieve calls recently (maybe 2 months ago) but I tried disabling bluetooth, LTE, wifi, and so on in attempts to resolve the issue and long story short nothing worked.

It just says will download when connected to Wifi which is ridiculous because I have good router/modem/internet.

As a AWU2 user I say 12x12 (144) more pixels??!! TAKE MY MONEY!! Can't innovate my ass!

and because it's 2025 I need to add /s

Also, I guess I should be happy there's nothing major... I've already gotten 2 years out of the AWU2 and it's the most current and biggest "flex"... and for at least another year it will basically stay that way, so they're maximizing my investment... plus the only thing I truly need is more battery as it when using Arccos for a golf round if I'm not over 70% when I start it may not make it through.
"Code in the iOS 26 beta hinted at a 422 x 514 pixel display for the Ultra 3, up from 410 x 502 in the Ultra 2. Since there's no rumors of a larger case, the bigger display could be due to a reduction in bezel size."

AWU2: 410 x 502 = 205.820
AWU3: 422 x 514 = 216.908
difference = +11.000 pixels not +144 pixels.

„Given that the Apple Watch Ultra is targeted toward adventurers, it could be a particularly attractive feature for those who like to journey to remote areas.“

Rofl hard.

This watch is targeted towards ultra nerds.

You can't even use it for 24 hours of activity and gps tracking. My Garmin and my Coros watch can do this for over two weeks straight without charging.

With an Apple watch you can just look at the new cat meme that was posted in your dark shadow discord group because you were too lazy to get your phone out of your pocket.

LONG time Garmin user. Jumped off that ship for the Ultra 1. Sold the Ultra, returned to Garmin. Hoping the Ultra 3 has better battery life, 'cause I love it aesthetically and functionally over the Garmin line. Regarding great battery, if Garmin can do it, why can't Apple move that needle? I know, I know... Apple's watch is processing way more stuff. But still...

When using the AW1 recently, I have noticed that I would appreciate the wide angled the enhanced refresh rate available on the 10. Also - a better chip would make stuff like Siri more responsive. Is it enough to upgrade a AWU1 with 100% battery? Probably not.The issue is that the AW1 or AW2 many of us have will continue to operate exactly the same as any of the new Apple Watches, and you don't even get the benefit of a refreshed battery as many of the original Apple Watches have apparently suffered no battery degradation

Until these watches can last 1 month+ like Garmin, I will not bother. AW = No ANT+, no solar, no 2+ week battery, average hrm, limited use with iphone only - I don't want an iphone. I have macbook pro, ipad pro, why do have to have an iphone to function a watch!!! It's like the Apple execs are drinking their own cola.

I’ve just switched from the Fenix 8 to the AWU2. Currently just getting used to the new charging regime, it takes 45 min and I charge it in the evening when I’m not doing much. I could easily get through a second night but I don’t think I’d get through 2 nights and 2 days. Hopefully the 3 will be able to do that.
Edit: I also have Apple One premium for other reasons so get Fitness + effectively for free

You should check out Withings hybrid watches, beautifully crafted with 30 day battery life on my wife's Scanwatch 2 Light!

It’s quite sad, the accuracy is nowhere to be found on this site. The articles are very often wrong with calculations. Alas, the so called journalists don’t read the responses to their posts so they have no way of knowing…or learning.

If the battery doesn’t last 7-10 days minimum I’m out. What’s the point of sleep tracking if I have to take it off to charge before bed. Even if it charges fast. This is not convenient. I’ll just buy a garmin or whoop device at a cheaper price for real health tracking.

I'd imagine Apple's thinking is that most people take a shower every day. With fast charging you can charge it while you're in the shower & be good to go. But yah, its certainly not for everyone & it seems pretty clear that Apple is happy to cede the people who need longer battery life crowd to Garmin & others.

Another solution (And I know you have to really wants to run on Apple Watch and be ready to spend for this) is to have two watches: an ultra and a "classic" watch.

iOS handle the switch very well and this present many advantages:
- You always have a fully charged watch ready to go
- You have a rugged watch when you know you gonna be in hard conditions or need longer battery life
- You have a "classic" watch for occasions when you need to be nicely dressed
- You can wear an Apple Watch 24/7, no gap in health tracking

The being said, I'm fully aware this isn't a solution for everyone, both financially and practically :)
