This is my upgrade year. I have a series 6 that got replaced with AppleCare about 2.5 years ago. I originally bought a series 6 on launch. About to get a BIG upgrade with the Ultra 3.

Can we get an iPod nano 9th gen (based on the iPod nano 8th gen design) with USBC and WiFi that can run watchOS? I think that could also help innovate the platform a bit by giving apple and third party app developers a slightly larger screen and an army of users to use and give feedback on improving and feature requests etc that could then work there way toward the smaller screen watch.

Satellite connectivity is awesome! BUT if you’re hiking in areas without cellular coverage, the Apple Watch tends to drain battery faster while searching for a network. Two days of battery life just isn’t enough. I’d consider upgrading from my AWU1 if a future model offered 6–7 days of battery life.

Mind as well go with a S10 or the S11 this fall since if true this is not even an actual update to consider upgrading if you have an U1 or U2

You'd be better off continuing to wait. There's nothing your S6 can't do that the Ultra 3 can, unless you are a prolific scuba diver or extreme outdoorsman.

I went from an S5 to an S10 and I regret having to waited another year or two.

Battery is on its last leg and I want the battery longevity of the ultra series.

If you use Safari, you can use the "Hide Distracting Items..." feature to hide articles.
You’d still have to do that manually with every article, and that feature doesn’t work with Private Browsing.

I’m proposing a MacRumors feature such as categories that would allow just news articles to be viewed, for example. Or perhaps a filter where you could uncheck categories you don’t care about from appearing on the homepage. It just feels like there’s so much filler to sift through these days.

We have heard about blood pressure monitoring the past few years, but still no update. Hopefully we will at least see some alert when blood pressure is rising or lowering based upon food intake and activity.

Is Macrumors running out of ideas? Seems like so many articles, that are simple worded differently.
I think the AWU is still at the beginning phase, with lots of room and technology to
implement

If they are updating the cellular chip, it will be interesting to see if they add any cellular bands. I think the last time they added any was Band 66 (for T Mobile) back on the Series 4 or 5. T Mobile's band 71 is the one they use for a lot of heir rural connectivity, and none of the watches support it. If they add it, you should see better T-Mo connectivity in more rural areas (where you'd think a lot of adventures would take place) so could be a nice upgrade (at least for T Mo users).

Does anyone know how difficult it would be to order an  WATCH from Canada (or other country) to get a watch with the O2 sensor?

I have a quickly-aging Series 6 and I no longer can get it wet (crack near the bezel broke the seal), and the battery lasts ½ day at best, but I really don’t want to lose the O2 readings.

I had the 1st generation  WATCH (bought April 2015), purchased the Series 6 on Black Friday 2020, so it seems like I am on a 5-year cycle.

Anything would be an upgrade for me at this point.

I have an Ultra 1 and see nothing too compelling. As an old fart, the blood pressure is interesting but it can wait another year. Measuring Blood Glucose would be an absolute Day 1 purchase. Hopefully it's there in 2026.

If it can give me my BP, I'm in. If not, there just isn't enough to warrant the cash. My series 1 Ultra is a beast and still runs for DAYS without a charge. It also has zero scratches, dings or scrapes. The glass is so hard and the frame is great.

How to improve the Apple Watch Ultra: Apple should make Watch Ultra truly standalone, without any dependency, not requiring other device to setup and use. No, I do not want an iPhone; even for free! Free your mind and your hands! Allowing to install any application including web browsers like Safari, Firefox, Chrome, Opera, Edge, etc. Add a camera to read QR codes, etc; best if it is telescopic rotating retractable camera in the crown neck (protecting from dust and sweat, besides privacy). Then I am sold, even for 1,000 USD or more.
I'm singing this song for years now. standalone or nothing. Seems like we stay with "nothing"... Damn, 5G m for low orbit Satellites, a small cam and 128 gigs. And apple could even keep all those sensors either. A small touch-monitor with a charger on the back "home phone (over Wlan)"... Apple car play...
Apple is sleeping since Stevie is gone...

So basically, it isn't going to do much different to series one or two but buy it because it's shiny and new?

This thing should be called Nerdwatch Ultra. There is nothing Ultra on this watch. You can‘t even run an ultra marathon with it.

My Coros sport watch has basically 30 times as much battery life as the Ulta 2 and even a proper navigation system with gps. Apple you suck when it comes to outdoor watches.

Agreed, need a smaller one, having a 44mm in between the two standard models would be great

With even less battery life? 😂😂😂 Just buy the normal Apple watch!!! An „Ultra“ watch should be functional as the name suggest and not an nerd or gucci instrument.
