Sydney Australia
I just received delivery of the Apple Watch Ultra with green alpine loop in Sydney Australia. I also bought the orange alpine loop.

@TheYayAreaLiving 🎗 - As promised I made a first impressions thread anyway even though a lot of you lucky Americans have got the watch already!

First impressions:
  • Packaging is nice and offers a different, more premium unboxing experience.
  • The watch is not as big as I expected. The case is bigger and thicker but it doesn’t feel heavier on the wrist compared to the S7 stainless steel.
  • For reference, my wrist size is 155mm and I wear a Size 5 solo loop. The two alpine loops I have are both size small.
  • The natural titanium looks and feels premium. I’ve always had stainless steel versions so I’m interested to see what the wear and tear will look like
  • The G hook on the alpine loop will take some getting used to. It wasn’t easy to take the watch on and off.
  • The flat screen looks and feels amazing to swipe on and it’s a clear differentiator from the standard series.
  • Display area is only slightly bigger than my Series 7 and the bezels are noticeable. They’re probably waiting til next year to reduce them and make it an incentive to upgrade.
  • Action button is useful for starting workouts. Will need to play around more to see what secondary functions I can assign to it.
Comparison pics are with my Series 7 Hermès.

Band pics include sport band, solo loop, leather loop, leather link, Milanese loop, steel link bracelet and some Hermès leather single tours.

Happy to take questions!

Edited to add pics of the midnight ocean band. Feels so nice!

Which band would be more secure for surfing? what is your ultra sport lol?
Running on the treadmill for an hour, or going for hikes for 3-4 hours LMAO

I’m not gonna do a triathlon, climb Mount Everest or go scuba diving to 200m that’s for sure LOL

Most secure would probably be the ocean loop (which I don’t have). The solo loop if it’s tight enough should work but obviously it won’t go over a wetsuit.

Thanks. Great pics! Any chance we can get a couple of pics with the orange sport loop on your wrist? My wrist is a little bigger than yours (165mm, about 6.5 inches) and I think I will likely wear it with my sport loop.

Ok, I wear them under a wetsuit in winter. I used to do triathlons lol would of been handy

Do you mean the orange alpine loop?

I like it. I’m on a Series 7 45mm. I initially was going to order one but once I saw that the screen size was essentially the same size as what I already have I decided I would wait a year or two when they will inevitably reduce the bezels and make the screen size bigger. I’m sure by then they will have made more improvements in the software also. Enjoy your new watch!

can you show pics of the alpine loop on your wrist and where the hook attaches. I'm curious how much room there is with your wrist size to loosen or tighten the loop.

I think the 14.4mm is the thickest at the centre of the watch where the sensors are.

Nah I’m gonna wait til there’s a sale at Amazon Black Friday or eBay or something
I am just testing the V1 didn't work for my ears, hoping the XS tips do.
Amazon had them for $319AUD already, missed it though.

No, it looks like you have a pic there with the orange sport loop. Right next to the pic with the purple solo loop. If you can show that I’d really appreciate it.

Thanks!
Here you go!
