Apple Watch Ultra Orders Delayed for Some Customers

It’s ok, folks, you can wait an extra week or two to cosplay an outdoorsman.
I bought mine and my wife's through Verizon, we got a sweet deal on them. Starlight Alpine loop and Green Alpine Loop. Still says September 23rd. Anyone else buy through a carrier?
I do a lot of watersports but I also bought the watch because I fancy something different from the normal Apple Watch
42 14K mountains, and countless smaller ones. Camped in -60 and +100 weather, in igloos, under the stars, and in tents. Backpacked hundreds of miles.
Even without that, there's other really cool use cases. Now that I've been there/done that/nothing left to prove in my youth, I plan to use it for GPS tagging when doing landscape photography.
And it's damn cool.
It have to be the band. The first Ultra I ordered was with the Blue/Gray Trail loop band on 9/9 and that one had a date of 10/10-10/17, so I cancelled that order and preordered the Ultra with the orange Alpine band and that one had a delivery date of 9/23. My watch is now left Anchorage, AK and is on its way to Louisville, KY before leaving to its final destination. Apple still say preparing for shipment by the way. UPS gave me my tracking number.
Mine still shows this Friday. Ready to do some extreme coding wearing this watch. I'll see how high my heartbeat goes up when my app breaks due to a library update.
I ordered Ultra with the orange Alpine band through Apple and Verizon. The Apple order has already shipped and the Verizon order is still saying estimated to deliver on 9/23.
I don’t know rather to laugh or cry a $799 watch can be sold out and delayed. That many people bought it and the majority are not even the target demographic. You just know it… could also be scalpers as well….
Who says supply is plentiful, honestly? We don't know what a sell-out constitutes.
I guess I should add that I do "extreme" Netflix-ing if that helps folks out that think only ultra marathoners should buy one of these.

Yup, though I think the price point surprised a lot of folks on the low side, so Apple's probably going to sell more than expected.
Preparing to ship...come on, come on...just take off already! ;-)
You can’t get it any where right now for launch day. And deliveries are being delayed. That tells me it’s a sell out.
The price definitely surprised me. I was expecting $1000 or more based on the rumors. I was all set on preordering a S8 SS until they said $799 for the Ultra, and I knew that was the Watch I was going to preorder.
My point is that a sell out could be 100k units or 10 million.
This. I want to see the Ultra in more real life scenarios, not the tightly controlled Apple promos & viewing room.
Still probably not going to buy it, but it might become more tempting if it looks good in actual usage. Honestly, if it came in space gray/black Ti, in 45 or 47mm, and without that giant orange button, I almost certainly would have preordered.
I placed an order for the orange band. I realized it would get dirty and I want to have the ocean (either blue or white) instead. My order is still on track to be delivered on the launch day. I wonder if Apple will allow me to swap the band in store.. Thoughts?

8's also missing other things like longer battery life, but yes. If the 45mm s8 was available in Titanium, I 100% would have purchased it.
