Will there be Hermes version? I think we've waited far too long to have an haute couture option at 40m below the surface of the ocean.

Wasn't planning on upgrading till I saw the metal surrounding the glass. I work near a lot of rock/rough scenic elements that I can't always avoid (not particularly clumsy, but surrounded by lots of people) and almost every watch I've bought has suffered scratches/scrapes on the glass within a week or two. I really like the look of it, and was really happy with the watch face/number of complications/night mode.

Well, well! I placed an order around 08:00 yesterday, for an Ultra, for pick up today.
Finally unboxed it, and powered it on, etcetera. My goodness, what a lovely device. And, I love large watches (Invicta, Tissot, MSQ), and to me, Apple got this spot on.

No, I will not be doing fitness, hiking or any of that, just wearing and enjoy my watch, like I did with my AW6...

I have a Series 7 and have been very vocal about keeping it and not being interested in the Ultra…. However, tried one on today in my local store, and had they have had stock, I’d have walked out with one. Not as chunky as I expected.

I was just conversing with my best friend, via text, and saying the same thing, it is not as large as people are making out...!

I have seen just one picture of the back....

IT HAS CASE SCREWS.

Breathlessly awaiting a teardown. Perhaps this may be more repairable (notably battery replacement) as Apple perhaps intended with the iPhone 14. Mother Earth is anxious as well.
Her wrists are too small. Probably opt for the smaller version of the normal one.

Watch is ugly as sun I can’t believe people like the looks of it.
So much better in-person. The flat screen and edges give it a very nice look. The flat screen also seems to be so much more useful somehow. Easier to tap and to swipe maybe?

We’re talking about the ultra here, not the standard AW. This thing does not look good with a suit and tie and I haven’t even seen someone attempt it yet. I’ll bet my life savings on it.
It doesn’t look that bad. Only thing is that with its added thickness, it may not fit under a shirt sleeve that easily, but otherwise, seems fine to me.

Saving my money for the upcoming iPad Pro.
This is too expensive for a HW with a 2 years old SOC.

I will revisit this product on its next iteration because I kinda like it.
What are you talking about two year old SOC? Is this established fact or just some people's speculation based on some part reporting the same number as previous versions? The watch itself can do more things than previous watches, so even if it won't run benchmarks any faster, the watch is more capable than previous versions. It's not like you're gonna connect it up to a 4K monitor, now, is it?

2nd day and took it for a 1.5 mile outdoor walk, slept with it, and it’s been about 28 hours so far and 40% battery left. Liking it so far and loved how big and bright and clear it was outdoors.

I am finding it to be much more clear and easy to read outdoors too.

It looks like the Alpine Band is on the Apple Watch Ultra upside down. I guess it doesn't matter, but here are the instructions. Note how the band loops at the end closest to the Digital Crown, not the end nearer the side button.

For those that have an Alpine and Trail band. How does this fare to getting wet and sweaty?

How fast does it dry?

Concerned as I hit the gym (Barry’s) and Cycling studio every day. Would a traditional silicon band be best?

Looking for feedback on these new bands.

what’s a good wrist size for this as many talk about how big it looks on the wrist but some here who received it , fits well. I have skinny wrists and my old 40 mm series 3 was fine on my wrist back then. 👀 abut the skinny athletes wearing it 🥸🥹
