Weather back to having issues

I saw the post "Issue was fixed" I was thinking..."no" - BUT that was Wed.
It was down for me yesterday afternoon.

SO FAR...Friday, 2:50pm ET I haven't had (or noticed) blank weather or the No Weather Data widget message. We'll see.

I am getting "weather" but it says cloudy. We are experiencing bright sunshine.
It has now changed to "weather unavailable". This is nonsense of course as the weather is always available outside my front door. It should say "Apple Weather is not currently capable of providing you with our dubious interpretation of your weather conditions"

I only look at Apple Weather for the comedic value and use my national weather service to obtain serious professional information.

I just need to do this again. I had Carrot for years and years and when Apple came out with its own weather I figured why pay for it.

Yeah... I miss it.
I just installed the Carrot app and will try the free version for a while. It looks decent. Hopefully the pop ups trying to get me to pay for the Premium version(s) won't be too disruptive.

IMO, it's the next best thing to Dark Sky, especially since you can incorporate some of Dark Sky's visual elements into it. There's an almost absurd amount of customization with Carrot though. I can see WHAT I want, HOW I want and not have to rely on any other weather apps UI choices. The biggest selling point for me though is that I can change weather data sources on the fly so if AccuWeather says one thing, I can switch the source to see if other weather services say something similar or totally different. That's the biggest advantage as far as I can see. Youre not limited to JUST Apple's weather or Weather channel which has been ungodly inaccurate for me in the past.

For me, the biggest test for Carrot actually happened last night. We had some pretty good thunderstorms roll through and not ONCE did Apple Weather send out any severe weather alerts. In fact, Apple Weather didnt even show that severe thunderstorms were in my area. On the other hand, Carrot was blowing up my phone with all of the alerts from the NWS, in near real time, and the radar in Carrot was spot on. Even when I switched between all of the weather data services in Carrot, they were all consistent with the severity of the storms, timing, rain amount etc...

Unless Apple does a top-down overhaul of how their weather app works, I'll be using Carrot from now on.

Mine “works” but every day is says rain. Which is fine. I get the chances. Yet, previously, anything I’d say 30% or higher was always dead on and we’d see the rain. Now, when it says 40% or higher chance of storms, it’s litterally SUNNY OUTSIDE. FYI- live in Dallas, tx and it’s been like this for weeks now. Biggest beating ever because when I see constantly a chance for rain, I plan my day accordingly for yardwork, outdoor activities, etc. and now when it’s constantly sunny, it’s BS. Apple wants people to pay thousands for their devices and yet the ONE app people want reliability on, they can’t get it right.

Try WeaWow. There’s no subscription! It doesn’t have the personality of Carrot or some others, but it’s perfectly functional.

I agree. However some of us want reliability on more than one app, Apple Music being a key one that requires major work.
