I know right?!!!

I mean, here I've been stuck with Space Gray since 2015 because that's the closest color I can get to the black/slate of my old iPhone 5. In the meantime everyone else has had access to Space Black on the iPhone for quite some time now.

It's just infuriating that I can only get Space Gray on my 6+, my 6s+ and my 11 Pro Max!!!! I'll be updating to a phone that gives me the Space Black I have been wanting for the last 10 years now, but in the meantime I have to suffer.

It's so nauseating!!!
I actually wish Apple would choose a set of colors and stick with them. I'm like "Dear Apple, pick a lane already!" I try to choose as close to black as possible but it's always a tossup as to what the choices will be.

Every year when Apple launches the new iPhones I ask myself, what the hell are these colors?
On the regular iPhone 15 the colors were really amazing like the light blue and on the 15 Pro there was the white which was okay and the blue which was really pretty
But what are the colors on the 16? Desert titanium which is really ugly white which is the least bad and black and natural titanium which are really not pretty
Why don't you give us 8 beautiful colors like on the iMac?
I find the iPad Air and mini colors terrible that sad blue has got to go I love vibrant colors; the blue, green, yellow and orange of the BACK of the iMacs would make killer stand out iPad minis! Down side is probably with no case they would scratch and you would see silver from underneath in no time.

I think it's better than it was a few years ago when they were making rose gold laptops, and there were two shades of gold for iPhones. At the moment, there's one or two good colors for the regular iPhone and the pros would benefit from more options.

It's a running joke (the comment) around here and @Splitrail was responding to my joke. You are taking it seriously. :)

Which is fine, because you're right, the case covers it up. It's just that the line is usually meant as a mic drop argument ender by those who use cases (around here). :)
ah... well I learned something today :). tnx! :)

I sometimes at work, while I should be fulfilling my duties, find myself staring at the color of my iPhone. It’s such a beautiful…..black.

I also like to match the color of the phone to my case since you can still see the color of the phone through the camera bump.
Thats why I have my phone whiteout case, the colour scheme for the "grey" iPhone in cases are not accurate

I think Apple has been consistent here. You didn't find fruit colors on PowerMacs, and PowerBooks. Those colors were only present in the iMac and the iBook. Which were the lower cost, budget friendly Macs, while the Power series was aimed at professionals. Apple has maintained that consistency between the MacPro and Macbook/iMac models and now into the M-Series Macs.

Similarly, when Apple has introduced lower cost iPhones, you got more color choices (with the exception of a few different models and types).

cus its all subjective. most of us think the iPhone 15 pastel colors were hideous. In my opinion They should just keep everything black and silver. thats always gonna be the best... and yet. who cares what the color is when its gonna have a case on it 10 seconds after I take it out of the box lol

i need the iPhone 17 Air in this colour.

however, if the 17 Air is (top half) metal, and (lower half) glass composite, then i would settle for typical aluminium colour on the top, and milk coloured glass on the bottom.

That’s very very close to the iPhone 13 blue, and pretty close to the 12 Pro blue, I hope they let some of us that want a more greenish blue/turquoise have a turn :)

while I agree iPhone colors have felt off

I believe that the 16 line (aside from the 16e) is one of the best color lineups in years
It’s true, at least for those who like the indigo. (for me indigo is one color I can’t look at, it hurts my retinas @,@)

Apple does seem to pick very strange hues of every color. It makes it hard to match the phones to anything, outfits, cases, desk setup, etc. Looking at the yellow 14 in my hands, it’s got too much green in it, and is just slightly pastel, I can’t find a single other yellow object in my house that’s this shade. It kind of clashes with all of them.

It’s like they try to pick colors that you won’t like too much, so you won’t feel regret getting rid of it in 2 years for a new one. Like they pick shades that are nobody’s favorite color lol

Somewhere we went from astonishing designs like the Flower Power iMac (which can only be appreciated in person), to very neutral shades worthy of a retirement home.
When they were the underdogs they had to have designs that enticed people to take a chance on them

Now that they’re the leaders they know people are going to buy them regardless, so they pick shades that you won’t like too much, so you won’t mind trading it in in 2 years for a different slightly-off shade that doesn’t match anything you own :p

Perhaps it's more of a 'not like everyone else' type of color than what you are suggesting. IDK, I don't really know what Apple thinks. I do know that I am still in possession of a 3GS, a 4, a 4s, two iPhone 5's, a 6+, a 6s+ and my current 11 Pro Max. All black phones, except for the 6+, 6s+ and the 11PM which are Space Gray. Oh, and the 4s is white.

That's the long was around of telling you that not everyone gets rid of their phones - let alone every two years. Yeah, I'm not typical, but I also know that many here do keep at least some of their phones. Some don't even upgrade every two years (imagine that). And it's probably not because they love the color so much they'd regret getting 'rid' of them.

Apple had color on the early iBooks and the early G3 iMacs. But most of the Macs from 1984 to the late 1990s were beige. The Apple IIs in the mid-70s to 1983 were beige. So was the Lisa. In the early 00s the PowerMacs and PowerBooks got silver colored and the iBooks/iMacs white. That same coloring scheme continued on in to the Mac Pros/MacBook Pros and the MacBooks.

When the iPhone launched in 2007 you got black. Later came white. The 5c was the first offering with multiple colors and they were all budget phones.

The colored iMacs were only from like 1998 to some time in the early 00s. And the colored iBooks gave way to the white iBook G3s in like 2001 or so. Comparatively, this was a short time period. And then Apple offered colored iMacs again, much later. Presumably when they were no longer 'underdogs.' So, for me you seem to be pulling out a weird argument that Apple only had color when they were underdogs and now no color because they aren't. I'm not seeing the logic here.

And lastly, I buy iPhone because I like iOS and you can't get iOS on Android. But that's an intentional choice, not a 'going to buy them regardless'. There are other choices that I could make, I just choose not to.

I like green iPhones; the iPhone 11 was a lovely shade of green (with a hint of blue), but the iPhone 15 "green" was a bit too washed-out for me. The 16 is very appealing, though, at least! I use the standard Apple clear case so I can admire the color 🙂

I like the colour of my blue iPhone 14, and if I had to replace my phone, I'd get Desert Titanium, which I also quite like.

While I hope that there are some nice colours when I eventually upgrade, I don't get all the vitriol about it.

Personally I buy an iPhone Pro every year but would not buy if my only choices were some cutesy color. IMO natural titanium rocks.

lol I use my phone without a case, and not even bother about the colour.

i just want a phone that can actually survive, caseless, the length of a contract by a reasonable person without having it crack/break.

The last phone that could do that was the 5S.
