I applaud Apple for this move. Particularly if this becomes a trend. We shouldn't have to applaud them for something that they should already be doing but I want them to get the message loud and clear that it is better to slip a date than to have slip in quality.

Given the fact that Apple doesn't allow for downgrading iOS versions, the version that gets released needs to be rock-solid. Obviously it is impossible to release an OS that is completely bug-free, but when a bug is found that impacts a release date, miss the date don't brush it off as, "screw it, let's go now and we'll release a patch later".

IMO iOS 8.x has been the nadir of that thinking. I hope this marks a change in that direction.

Maybe I missed it but does watch OS2 make apps open a lot faster? Cuz trying the watch at the store and noticing how long it took to open the weather made me not buy the watch.
it you set things that you use often as a "Glance" It is accessible quickly....

I noticed an issue updating from a legacy Watch app to native.

After updating PCalc Lite on my iPhone, PCalc on the Watch didn't automatically update to the new native app. I had to manually go to the Watch app on my iPhone and and noticed the "Show App on Apple Watch" was disabled, even though the app still showed on my Watch. After I toggled that to "on", the app updated, but the icon on the Watch showed the placeholder icon. I could tap the placeholder and it would open the updated native app, but the icon never updated from the placeholder.

I wonder if this was the bug they caught?

I am an Apple developer, and in the dev forums there was a slow network request problem... That could've been the bug they were talking about. I use GM and I haven't seen a problem, the only problem I had with it was it was very slow to install onto my watch, it took over an hour to update and then spent another 20 minutes or so, booting and rebooting until it started up. That could possibly be another problem… in fact I thought my watch was messed up until it finally booted up successfully. That could possibly freak out The average user

Thats not a bug.. thats the way its supposed to be. You aren't supposed to be able to play the music on the watch speaker, only headphones.

You were meant to be able to listen to music on the watch via the speakers but noticed it was missing in the GM too which was disappointing.

It was announced at WWDC - 1hr 36m

Edit - I guess its only from within apps that developers make. I could of sworn they showed it from the music app

I'm glad Apple owned up to it and delayed the release. Much better than bricking a bunch of watches and having to fix them after the fact. Although some people will still cry and say this is such a bad thing, it's far better delay and fix the update before it reaches the masses. Apple is being proactive and not retroactive, this is VERY GOOD.

Seeded GM and just discovered a bug.

Is Apple OS getting sloppy?
I feel like there have been much more issues with Apple OS (OS X and iOS) recently.

I have my blast shield up so all you trolls can blast away.
Wouldn't say "sloppy" so much as their OSes are getting more complex and feature-packed. Add to the mix entirely new devices like the Watch and continuity vs. privacy isuues and concessions, and yeah... there will be a bump or two. Can be frustrating, for sure.

Complaining about software bugs - as if there should (or could) be absolutely NONE - is unrealistic... that's what many people are responding to.

Good move apple. As frustrating as it is that we have not got the latest OS I would much prefer that when its shipped that its all fixed up.

I'm glad to see that people are applauding the move to not release watchOS 2 today. Yes, they should have caught all the bugs prior to release... but this isn't a perfect world.

I was running the GM release and it was KILLING my battery. It was going down 1.5% every 3 minutes. My watch wasn't making it to 4 hours before turning off.

I'm glad they are delaying if this is the bug.

Un-pair and re-pair fixes this issue.

It would be nice to know what sort of bug it was they found. I just hope though for those of us running the GM that it will be easy to get the fix.

i'm really, really disappointed... I've been waiting sooooo impatiently for OS2.... however I'm glad they found and pulled it cuz I'd be PISSED if they had screwed up my watch!

On the Apple Dev forums, it appears that native apps can conflict with third party apps and the watch will get in a continous loop.
