My wife and daughter are both running 1.0.1 against the 9 GM (I'm running the 2.0GM) and it works fine for them (complete with notifications) so for someone to say that it's categorically "incompatible" would appear to be wrong

He also took one readers complaint as fact and assumed everyone is experiencing the same issue, and proceeded to call Apple out on their incompetence... when really, he showed severe incompetence in coming to a conclusion and spewing out incorrect information that others will now go on and also claim as fact.

But, such is the internet.

So a programmer just found this bug today when they are going to release? Sounds like a crappy programmer

What Apple says is that this bug is taking longer to fix than they anticipated. It might have been discovered a month ago.

And BTW, bugs discovered late in the development process are typically found by testers, not programmers.

Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

I, for one, am glad they will be delaying the release instead of me downloading and installing a faulty update.

Absolutely. Minor hiccup in my eyes. It'd be worse to release something with a significant bug.

Isn't it odd that no one knows what the bug is though?

Perhaps the bug is a vulnerability and it's not really a good idea to tell people about it?

At risk of sounding like a broken record, if Apple bit the bullet and delayed the launch of Apple Music like they did with WatchOS now, they might not lose millions of subscribers. Last thing you want to see on the beautiful screen of Watch Edition is "This watch performed an illegal operation and will now be rebooted" looped ad infinitum.

All major software is released with known bugs. The question is when to draw the line. When is something good enough for release? Checking software with open bug trackers, you'll see that for example each release of Google Chrome comes with hundreds of known bugs as well as when they deem they should be fixed, depending on severity. It's common to know a bug and schedule it for fixing only by the next two releases or so. Simply because dev teams have their hands full of more important stuff.

I'm shocked... shocked that someone commenting on this thread has a clue about how software development actually works.

Seeded GM and just discovered a bug.

Is Apple OS getting sloppy?
I feel like there have been much more issues with Apple OS (OS X and iOS) recently.

I have my blast shield up so all you trolls can blast away.

While Apple announced last week that it would be releasing iOS 9 and watchOS 2 to the public today, the company has just announced that it will not be releasing watchOS 2 as scheduled due to a recently discovered bug.

TechCrunch has shared the full text of Apple's notice.Apple seeded the intended golden master version of watchOS 2 to developers immediately following last week's media event, but the company will need to make some final tweaks to address the discovered bug before it feels comfortable releasing the updated operating system to the public.

Anyone know if you're running the public 9.1 beta if the watch is 2 will push(once available?)

I'm actually more excited for Watch OS 2.0 than I am to receive my iPhone 6s. There are so many apps that I'd like on my wrist but don't want to just run through bluetooth back to my phone. So for me I think this is going to be a bigger upgrade than going from my iPhone 6 to 6s.

Whoa if this is true then to me the watch is already broken.

I love how people are so complacent here. They give Apple cheers but if their own IT at their company told them "we can't give you your new computer today because we screwed up" they'd probably call their IT idiots.

You have it backwards, my friend. My company's IT department IS full of idiots; but if they delayed a rollout due to quality problems, I would cheer them.
