This usually happens if you have pirated/stolen an App Store app without buying it using your account.

Delete the pirated app and it will stop.

I don't have any pirated apps on my computer, though. Perhaps this is something they did to those that got the previous GM through.... *cough* special means?

UK Store

It's up on the UK store now. 5.29gb download went through first time. Mac says it'll take 33 minutes to install...

So with just over 3GB left to download over an expected 31 minutes the speed has dropped and the expected time is now 1 hour 25 minutes.

Can't people just wait until I have got mine installed?

Sorry I'll pause mine, let me know when to start it back up :)

Weirdly the betas had a minimum requirement of 10.6.7, which was less than the requirement of ML (which I think was 10.6.8).. It didnt make sense until todays announcement.
The App Store debuted in 10.6.6

You can create your own install media (USB), and install fresh if you wish.[/QUOTE]

What if the update is packed with lots of random numbers and a hint: "We're not ready yet. But thank you for testing our servers."?

No problems with the servers here in the midwest - solid 50mbits/sec for both downloads so far...

MacBook Pro's been stuck on "less than a minute" for the install process to complete for a few minutes now...

Of course, as soon as I post this it restarts...

Oh and now there's a post reboot "completing installation" phase which supposedly will take another 7 minutes...

This is taking a good while, even on a fast SSD.

Fantastic, at last Apple starts following Microsoft in shipping their service packs free!

Except for the fact that this is not just a simple service pack that fixes security issues, it is a new OS (maybe not as drastic a change as winxp to vista, but vista to win7 or win7 to win8 was not much more of a change that mountain lion to mavericks - and Microsoft charges for these).

Also note the fact that you can upgrade from Snow Leopard to Mavericks for free, which is definitely not the equivalent of a service pack upgrade.

Service packs do not add new features, just fix issues.

Lastly, dont you think this sets a precedence for Apple to continue this with future OSX updates being free to match iOS?

I havent read much about windows 8.1 update, but the main thing I have read is it fixes the default metro interface which can hardly be called new features, and even if it does actually have new features, then this would be the first free update from Microsoft, so hardly can say apple is following microsoft, when apple charges far less for OS updates with new features...

Just curious, do you have an SSD or a regular hard drive?

SSD (I edited my post above).

I'm going to have to really think about when I upgrade my HDD-based production iMac...

It finally came through but it's barfing on iStat Menus (the old version). Continually crashes launchd, this could be fun to fix.

Edited: HIGHLY SUGGEST uninstalling iStat Menus (again, the old version) before installing this.

Has anyone installed it yet? What's the build number?

I've downloaded it and checked the install ESD.dmg's checksum. It is the same as the GM2 Seed Build 13A603.
