Logic board, display, and all other components are salvaged from other devices.

Board level component repairs for liquid damage is performed, but the board will never be as reliable as new. This is because materials like epoxy underfill, which help keep the chips in place, are never replaced.
Do you have a source for this? It would be interesting to know more about their refurbished devices, I've purchased multiple in the past and they've always been identical to new.

So am I the only one that got their second payment from this settlement?! 100 bucks just dropped in my account(via email)

Not quite sure why I’m getting a Visa digital card for $26.18 dollars. I had 2 iPhone 5 cell phones replaced under AppleCare. I did receive $14 dollars and some cents for each of those iPhone 5’s. But now I’m getting $26.18 for what reason? Anyone have an ideas 💡???

I got 50 bucks last time, this time I got a hundred, I guess there was a second part of this settlement they missed and they have begun dispersing it until May 15

I always buy AppleCare, but I only had 2 iPhone 5’s replaced, and I don’t think there was anything wrong with the hardware, but it was a software issue. I got paid $14 plus change, then about 6 months later I got a check for $14 plus change. Now the $26.18. Is that for 1 iPhone 5, or for 2, or is it for some other AppleCare that I never got a refurbished item? The whole thing is a little confusing. 🫤

It was during a certain time period that you must had gotten a replacement from them when you used AppleCare, and they couldn't fix your device. In my experience I usually go through 3-4 same iPhone iterations from exchanges with 9/10 hardware issues. The only device I've problems with the software has always been the apple watch.

The only record that I remember from getting phones from Apple was during the iPhone 7 fiasco where they had a defective earpiece. I went through 11 iPhone 7 plus at the time.

I got 2 checks in the mail last evening. Two checks for $46.08 each. That’s along with the $26.18 digital Visa card I got.
Still not sure why I’m getting this money. Must be from the BatteryGate issue. I was thinking that I had only one iPhone 7 Plus battery replaced for $29, which I was totally satisfied with Apple’s response, but I do remember now that I had bought another iPhone 7 Plus for my now X. Maybe that’s why I got 2 checks in the mail. But that doesn’t account for the single $26.18 digital Visa card?

I got another check Saturday for $26.18. So now I’ve gotten:

$26.18 paper check
$26.18 digital MC card
$46.08 paper check
$46.09 paper check
—————
$144.53 total

And I was, and still am, a happy Apple user. I never felt slighted by Apple at any time.
