Apple is supposed to be big and powerful (and courageous ?) enough to create a market but their focus is elsewhere, probably just in looks and money.

MacBook+Mac Mini+iMac+MacPro is not a line of products that can cover all needs and it certainly doesn't work for me, and, believe it or not, however weak/naive/sheepish the user and customer base is in this era, it won't work for Apple as well. They'd better undermine and limit macOS even more so that future users won't have any choice but using iPhones and consuming media.
Just because Apple doesn’t satisfy your particular need doesn’t mean they should.

If you describe your niche machine requirements and what you’re willing to pay, there are several here who can (probably) tell you exactly why Apple doesn’t make what you want.

How about a more affordable successor to the Cinema Display for home use? We're stuck between the fugly disgusting LG and the exorbitant XDR. And now with WFH taking over, the market is more than ready for such a product.

I wonder if this means that they are also making chipsets that are the server equivalents, like an A-series Xeon of sorts.

Given that 99.7 percent of businesses in the US are small to medium-sized, maybe Apple will finally focus on that market instead of enterprises. Or the huge freelance market. Whilst they're at it, release a non-6K version of the Pro XDR display.
I would buy this!
I’m still with (and still super happy nevertheless mind you) with two TB displays to the sides of an iMac... I wouldn’t mind upgrading does, but $1K at a time not $6K+.

That 'fugly disgusting' LG display has an identical panel to that found in the 27-inch iMac. If you care more about what the housing looks like, then clearly your priorities are in the wrong area.
I care about both, because Apple used to care about both. When they were selling the Cinema Display they weren't just selling a screen, they were selling an entire desktop aesthetic and brand. Alas, those times are gone. And clearly you like assuming stuff with snark and bile.

The 27 inches imac 5K panel and LG 27, agree.

but the LG 24 i am still doubting to buy it, as it is 192dpi, less than the 220 needed to use it retina native with good UI size, it is too big.

If they release an iMac 24 inches AS, i am sure they wont use that 24 panel, they will come with a 220 dpi panel, and hopefully a new monitor release from LG.

As a note, the 24 inches is out of stock across Amazon worldwide, i was buying to biy it. I think something might come next week.

Ouch… here we go again. I Wonder if it makes sense to buy one of the Intel models now to dive through their next dumbed down design. I currently own a 2009 classic Mac Pro, heavily upgraded and it still runs strong. I would hate to have to replace it with another Apple trash can accident in a year or two…

In its current form, the Mac Pro is the only product that Apple makes —worthy of the "PRO" moniker. I sure hope they don't water it down like nearly everything else.

When Steve Jobs returned from exile, one of the things he did was pair-down the number of products and refocused on quality. Tim Cook has resurrected the grab-bag product line with a more Samsung/LG like' model. Aside from the highly successful 60Hz iPhone and AppleWatch, not much else stands out these days'. ☮️

People don't hide their computers away in dark cupboards anymore. The design of a device is just as important as its function in many settings. Especially when it comes to getting these things past your spouse. For instance the PS5 seems to be getting relegated to the man cave as it does not fit in with the solid oak furniture and black appliances that the PS4 Pro could just disappear into.

I have to wonder what they'll sacrifice to make it half the size? Probably ditch the AMD GPUs. Maybe even several PCIe slots, as well. I fear we'll see another trash can Mac Pro, and then Apple will have to relearn that some people want modular computers.

Ditching custom ASIC GPGPUs that they themselves will never replicate would neuter a lot of the power of the Mac Pro.

I expect it'll have to accommodate the AfterBurner card. Maybe the CPU itself will just be a replaceable module like a glorified AfterBurner. Buy new modules as time goes on and it uses the one cooling system for the GPU's AfterBurner(s), and CPU. It would make a very modular design.

Good luck fitting a modern GPU into a small enclosure. RTX 3090s are the size they are for a reason.

Amazing too that Apple didn't learn from the debacle of the old Pro. Pros want power. That's it. That's literally the only thing that matters. The PCs themselves will under a desk and covered in junk within minutes. Their size and shape is beyond irrelevant.

No. Given you can find LG 4Ks for under $400, I care a lot more about the panel at that price. The housing could be purple with yellow spots, and it would still contribute to my company's revenue. In fact, it would probably give everyone a good laugh.

The Apple hype machine says Apple Silicon will be more power efficient, so they will never release a Mac Pro that is the same size as any current Mac Pro's. It will be a smaller, more restricted, barely effective machine that appeases the marketing hype, but moves more people away from the Mac for serious computing work.

Remember folks, it's not about users and user's choice, it is only about the Keynote and the ivory loop.

is it the Mac Pro mini

or the Mac mini Pro?
Or an indication that people that bought the new new new Mac Pro were gullible? No, not really, but...

Apple has gotten so erratic. They wait, what, a DECADE to finally release the new new new new Mac Pro (too many 'new's in that? I've lost count), and within what seems like a year later, make it obsolete? AND make the new new new new new Mac Pro look even more like a cheese and vegetable grater by making it SMALLER too? Do they take 'pro users' as a joke? It would almost seem they do.

But this goes on the whole idea of the original Mac Pro being a box full of air. It was way to large for what it was. They could have made it smaller, just look at the iMac's, Apple *could* have made it smaller, but they chose to make it 'impressive' and as large as a suitcase. But, hmm... Is this going to lose 'pro users' for good? With the thread rippers and high octane GPU's of the peecee world now blowing the doors off Apple's best?

I guess, stay tuned...

(Will they use liquid cooling again? Eww...) (Anyone got a new new new Mac Pro they want to get rid of? You can keep the wheels!)

Speaking of graters, has anyone seen the much smaller version of the new new new Mac Pro 'cheese grater' pattern in the original suitcase sized Mac Pro? It's there if you look for it...

I wonder how well the current Mac Pro is selling, it may be that it is just too expensive for the market and that they are looking at a cheaper option.

Then you have the problem of the Mac mini which has moved up market but still doesn't have the flexibility to swap out peripherals.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a low end Mac mini SE with the form factor of the Apple TV and the current Mini replaced with a proper machine that doesn't cost more than my car. This might be wishful thinking though.

Why not? The current Mac Pro is larger than what most people need. Something closer to an ATX case would work just fine
I loved my IIcx. The case size was perfect, and it could go sideways and flat. It was so easy to open, and was 'just right' for cards and such. It was, at the time, perfection. No space wasted. The suitcase Mac Pro I have now is MASSIVE, full of wasted space. The 'trash can' new new new Mac Pro was the closest to 'perfect' since, but it had no space for anything additional. *shrug* Time will tell...

More like Apple is desperate to prove their 'Apple Silicon' can play serious ball with the big boys. The proof will be in the pudding, as they say. If the machine comes out with 20 cpu's, no expandability, cooks itself because Apple screwed up the cooling (again), it could flop and hard too... And why did they not wait to release the 'wheeled wonder' if they knew they were going to dump this last one so quickly? It's like Apple is just wandering around trying hard to step on themselves. I sure hope they maintain Intel machine support for at least 10 years, otherwise there are going to be a lot of pissed off owners of expensive and totally capable relics.

Tangent: Could someone make new ROM's and turn the cheese grater into a native Linux machine? It's going the other way from a 'hackintosh', but if they could be salvaged, it would give them a new lease on life. *shrug*

The Iicx was a beautiful machine and functional.
