Right exactly, 90hz polling just feels bad on ProMotion screens especially, not just being under 1:1 per refresh but forget about polling multiple times per screen refresh, feels imprecise and sloppy. And at that, it's an old first gen laser sensor and not at all like modern sensors like Bluetrack or Darkfield which can track on many more surfaces.

Taptic Engine would be very cool and could help the mouse feel the best integrated with macOS.
Oh I'll go a step further to say they need higher polling on their mouse and trackpads irregardless of promotion. The newer magic trackpads feel laggy in comparison to the older ones even on 60hz screens.

How hard is it to move the charging port to front or at least to the side of mouse? The Magic Mouse has always been design over function. Love the looks hate charging it.
There is not enough space under the edges for the port with the current form. To do that they would need to raise the mouse or notch the edges. Clearly they didn’t want to do that. If they are going to address this “issue” it will require a more significant redesign for the next mouse.

Oh please, they’ve had almost a decade to redesign it. I’ll believe it when I see it!

I have two M3 Master Mice lying around but all I want to use is the MM for my 55“ 8K Display.
I think it‘s ergonomic as you hold it left and right and thus don‘t get the typical Mouse Elbow.

Also 2D swiping of the MM beats any number of wheels on a normal mouse.

I‘m working 10+ hours a day with the MM and have absolutely no complaints.

It is hard because (I think you will agree) using a wired mouse provides bad user experience.

I believe the thinking behind it was “if you’re going wireless, fully embrace it”. It’s like AirPods: they could have thought about some way to use them with a wire, but they want to actively avoid it. And that probably contributed to their success.

Of course it also has some downsides, but I would say it’s definitely about function (in addition to form).

- retractable feet

I have no doubt that the new Magic Mouse won't be designed for only right or left-handed users, and I don't think Apple would offer both a left- and right-handed option. I'm pretty sure the new Magic Mouse won't have a lot of added bells and whistles, either. The charger's location and mouse ergonomics will be improved, but I will be surprised if it goes beyond that. They are going to want to keep the cost of the mouse the same or within the same ballpark as the current version.

I'm amazed the charging port caused more controversy than the atrocious ergonomics

I feel the same way. My guess is that most of the noise comes from people who don't actually use Apple's products.

I used the Magic Mouse for a while before switching to the MX Master 3. The charging port being at the bottom was never an issue for me. The battery lasted for months on a single charge, and if it ran low, plugging it in for just 10-15 minutes was enough to use it for the rest of the day.

The main reason I switched to the MX Master 3 was the poor ergonomics of the Magic Mouse. That said, I still miss the smooth scrolling and gesture support of the Magic Mouse, and I’m hoping to switch back to it sometime soon.

Oh Apple please please please do this, release a more ergonomic friendly version of the magic mouse! I love the idea of the magic mouse, the multitouch surface is awesome but its just too uncomfortable for anything but casual use. Huge lover of my magic trackpad and its my daily driver, but its nice to use a mouse sometimes. If Apple could somehow make a mouse somewhat like the MX Master but with their touch and looks it would be incredible.
I always hear this but I don’t think it’s so easy. I think the traditional mouse arc shape is better when it comes to moving the cursor for most people. But the flatter surface of the MM is better for touch gestures, since it gives the finger more room to move. It’s a compromise either way.

they should have the Magic Mouse have a mouse pad that wirelessly charges the mouse.
This seems like the most Apple-ish improvement to do. They can sell an additional product that way. I don’t even begrudge it.

Count me among the people who love and prefer the Magic Mouse, too. I’ve never had a problem with the ergonomics and I cannot use any mouse that doesn’t offer horizontal scrolling at this point. Rollers feel so primitive compared to the MM gestures, too. I’ve used mice with multiple buttons and there’s some appeal, but MM + Better Touch Tool can do anything they can and more.

I could easily imagine the „fix“ for the „charging issue“ will be the remocal of the port alltogether. Just wireless charging - „problem“ solved… :p

they’re not downvotes. They’re disagreements, they’re disagreeing with your opinion
Weird though as you can disgree with someones assessmnt in absolute terms but if X says that he or she finds it uncomfortable, odd that they should get a downvote because you don't, (not you personally).

I do not ever, in any lifetime, want a mouse of that bulk, size or complexity.
It’s definitely not portable, but it’s the best mouse I’ve ever used. The only thing that comes close is the Logitech MX Anywhere 3S which I keep in my travel backpack.

Apple will never make a mouse close to the Master MX, unless they forgo the gesture surface of the mouse. I prefer my Master MX. Never found the gestures useful on a desktop computer.
I use gestures constantly in my MacBook workflow with my Master 3S. I programmed the lower thumb button as the gesture action.

Apple mouse probably only device I hate. It looks beautiful but it hurts my wrists and it far too low/flat. I need it longer and higher more curve. Apple keyboard and trackpad for me is far far by best than anyone else but their mouse is awful. I am both left and right handed and I switch mouse other hand when my hand starting to ache bit. It hard to find mouse can do both hands comfortably. Choices is limited. Apple mouse obviously can do both but shape and design just not there for comfortable use.

This might just be the first Apple mouse that people will actually use since 1984, rejoice!
