What a bunch of grumpy, old timers on this thread. I like Durant as a basketball player and I’d be interested in this show.

Apple's service business is growing far faster than its iPhone business. Chances are it will be apple's "core business" before long.

But those services are directly related to their hardware/software business. Nobody is going to use the Apple App Store (the dominant service revenue generator) on a non-Apple device.

What's with Apple recently and pulling in stars?

I gather 'Planet of the Apps' wasn't enough, they gotta have "a squeal' (...and a totally different show title)

Believe what you want to believe. Adding Durant is what prevented the Cavaliers duplicating their winning strategy from 2016 where they just manhandled shorter players like Curry/Thompson on the perimeter.

It took a Herculean effort and 7 games for the Cavs to beat the Warriors in 2016. And that final game could have gone either way. Everyone watching knew they likely couldn't repeat that.

Swagger - the story of hand-picking your trade to a winning team to "earn" championships.
Free agent but agree with the point being made. At least everyone on the team blew a 3-1 lead.

I like Kevin Durant. He has a good attitude about life from everything I've seen. If you are gonna produce "good" content, stay away from trashy personalities (e.g. Kardashians) and the type of shows that feature them.
Really, he complained that the media in OKC was to hard on him. When LBJ ties his shoes wrong and it’s a sign he’s not happy. Good for KD and he is more successful than I will ever dream of being but he’s kind of a punk. Which is why he had a second twitter defending himself from his detractors.
That being said, I’ll still watch it.

Ok this has me stoked. As a Seattle Supersonics fan seeing Kevin Durant in any form is emotional. Miss seeing him in the Green & Yellow and I will be watching this for sure.

yawn+1.........

Apple is developing a new drama series that's based on the early life and career of NBA star Kevin Durant, who plays for the Golden State Warriors, reports Variety.

The show, called "Swagger," was inspired by Durant's experiences as a youth playing basketball. It will highlight the world of Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) basketball, taking a look into the lives of players, their families, and coaches.

Imagine Television, led by Brian Grazer and Ron Howard, will produce alongside Kevin Durant's Thirty Five Media. Both Durant and Grazer will serve as executive producers, while Reggie Rock Bythewood will write and direct. Bythewood is known for his work on "Notorious," a movie that shared the story of Notorious B.I.G., and television series "Shots Fired."

Apple now has at least 10 television shows in the early stages of development, including an untitled morning show drama starring Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon, an "Amazing Stories" reboot from Steven Spielberg, an untitled space drama from Battlestar Galactica creator Ronald D. Moore, a series written by "La La Land" creator Damien Chazelle, a Kristen Wiig comedy series, See, an epic world-building drama, Home, a docuseries focusing on incredible homes, and "Little America," an anthology series from "The Big Sick" creators Kumail Nanjiani and Emily V. Gordon.

More details about each of Apple's television projects can be found in the original content section of our Apple TV roundup.

So tell me what you think about LeBron and Miami. I'll wait.
His Miami championships don't count either. The one with Cleveland counts, but he gets points deducted because of the way he left and the Kevin Love trade to make it happen. Couldn't do it like Dirk did without a super team, who made Lebron his B*** when he won that championship in 2011.

LeBron is a terrible teammate and awful in the finals. I think he's 3-5. He only went to the Finals because the East is garbage. If he played in the West, he might have 1 championship, but likely 0.

There isn't a single TV show deal I've cared about that is potentially coming to Apple Music...and as a fanboy, this puts me in a really awkward position. I've owned, used, sold or at least experienced everything Apple has made since 1999. Every product I've touched and used a bit from every iPhone, Laptop desktop and even iPod Socks, Mighty Mouse and the shirts, mouse pads and coffee cups they sell in Cupertino.

Heck, I even was a MobileMe and itools subscriber.....with this new service, traditionally I'd watch everything Apple produced because I love Apple.

I'm in a tough situation. I basically have to accept that Apple is now doing things that have zero appeal to me and I have to emotionally check out from that. I know new Apple customers don't have that same experience but anyone that's been around long enough to go to 5+ years of Macworld, join a Mac User Group or camp out for Mac OS releases knows that it's a weird feeling when you're no longer the target demographic. Apple the media company and I are going to be in a strained relationship because they're not making things for me and I need to be okay with that.
[shrug] It doesn't have to be that bad. In the meantime, try out other stuff. You can always get back into more Apple products and services when they change their tune.

FFS! This is for the US market only right?
I mean, it'd be like Apple doing a series about Kevin Keegan.

I hope this fella lived a Family Friendly life.

You're where I was three years ago. It will only get worse. It'll get so bad, you'll buy competitor products and sell your Apple stock.

Is it a bad thing to sell Apple stock to buy a Surface Book 2?
That's where I'm at right now o_O

They don't realize that all it will take is one bad quarter for things to start unraveling.

Or worse, when the day comes for one of their TV show celebrities or this basketball player to have his #MeToo moment. Hollywood is a scumbag business and Apple is playing with fire for no good reason.
