Deja vu comes to mind here as I swear this "rumor" has been said before on this very site even... recycled rumors hosted on a different site doesn't make it new.

Apple Tiles have been rumored again and again and again and again and again.... and yet, every other company on the planet seems to have managed to actually deliver a similar product already.

Come on... you have no real news, so you dig through some old posts on the inter webs and resurrect it as being new news. Bloomberg apparently poached from this site and now you are poaching from theirs.

The Cube actually had a pretty cool industrial design. It was one of the first Mac designs to be fanless and cooled by convection. Unfortunately, it had other problems and didn't sell well. A revised version should be a whole different story.

Why would they keep intel over mac silicon?
I can imagine someone wanting to buy one last Intel powerhouse if they have a significant software purchase they want to keep running for as long as possible.

Having seen the current performance of M1 chips even running emulation, no Mac user in their right mind would buy a new Mac with Intel silicon moving forward. The only reason current Mac Pro$$$$$ are still a consideration is because of expandability and RAM. If the new Mac Pros make that a non-issue, it's game over for an Intel-chipped Pro.

So the rumor is Apple is designing an all new form factor (a rather thermal deprived one...) and they are sticking an intel inside.

Makes a lot of sense. Not.

Seriously though, I want real mac mini in the size of Apple TV so I can have mobile desktop around!

The Mac mini is the replacement for the cube and obviously has been very successful.
I like the idea of just a “Mac”. For regular people who want a desktop that they can modify. 20 years ago I had a G4 tower. Lots of fun playing around with it. Added drives, upgraded the ram and processor over almost 8 years. Finally replaced it with a Mac mini and lately with a old MBP.
still it would be fun to have a small tower to play with.
