AppleCare extension and expiration

I bought a MacBook Pro 15" last year, and since I was moving around I forgot to extend my apple care. At this point, I'm unable to buy apple care for my laptop, and was wondering if there are any options of device insurance available for MacBooks.

Did anyone have a similar issue, and would like to help me out?

Not sure how you paid for your Macbook but some credit cards extend the warranty to two years.
