I've always gotten it on every phone since it was offered. First and foremost for if I need it of course.

I upgrade annually. If I sell the phone, I can transfer coverage to the new owner, so it makes your phone more marketable and higher resale value.

If I choose to trade it in, I call AppleCare and get the refund of the full price of the AppleCare + minus the time used, so it essentially increases the trade in price.

Decided to buy. Peace of mind. Will keep until next year then get 1/2 refunded.

It's peace of mind, I guess. I got Apple Care + with Theft and Loss on a monthly subscription. I hope I never have to use it.
Just did it for the first time this year because of the theft and loss coverage and got rid of the Verizon insurance.

What do you guys do about screen protectors? Still needed?
I still do a screen protector, more because they wont replace a screen for scratches only if its cracked but plenty of people aren't bothered by minor scratches and go without one. Personal preference.

I have always bought AppleCare before, but will skip it this time around due to its higher prices - I'll bet in large part to all the abuse of AppleCare due to iPhone users running "naked" with their phones and coming back to Apple for a return with every scratch or shatter they got for not being responsible with their phones in the first place!

I've always had it, never had to use it, because I've always slapped a great protective case on my iPhones. Screw it. lol

I got Apple Care plus I put on Tempered Glass screen protector and put the phone in a good, drop resistant case.

I all ways buy applecare I had a battery expand and push the screen out of place on my Iphone X a couple of months it would have been an out of warranty repair with out applecare

I’ve literally just had a replacement X for this exact issue with only 30 days left on my Apple Care+

They wouldn’t sell it if they didn’t make money.

The reality is that you have to decide if it is worth the cost for you. I’ve always saved money having AppleCare. I also like going naked and I’m not the most coordinated. **** happens.

Honestly blows my mind that people buy Apple Care rather than get a half decent case and screen protector.

The cost outlay is insane.

Case and screen protector isn't a guarantee to protect your phone in every scenario. Like stated above, buy AppleCare+, added incentive when it comes to selling the phone, or get refund when trading in. No brainer. Blows my mind people don't get that.

You can buy AppleCare plus and cancel anytime. Cancel and they refund the remaining balance. Anyone undecided should buy and if after a couple of months think they’re going to be ok just cancel and get a refund.

There is the answer....get AppleCare. Especially for something you handle daily.
I'm not saying to get AC+, just throwing the numbers out there. Personally I would rather potentially spend $600 for a replacement than $300 for insurance and deductible. When the insurance is 50% of the replacement cost I lean towards self insuring.
