I would get it....It's cheaper to get AppleCare than to repair or get an new iPhone

Purchases using most credit cards will extend your warranty to 2 years for free. I've made excellent use of that feature numerous times over the years. AMEX is the best but most of the others do it as well.

I use my AMEX for ALL electronics purchases. It's already saved me since I had to replace my $2,000 plasma HDTV due to it becoming faulty... after the manufacturer's warranty expired. Same with my iPhone. Bought it this morning with the ol' AMEX

...and if you buy an extended warranty Amex will double that, up to five years. I purchase my iphones with Amex and didn't plan on purchasing apple care until I read the details on Amex's site a few days later. Now I have 4 years of coverage on each phone.

I would only buy it to extend the regular warranty. Like a pp said, it doesn't cover dropping and breaking...only dropping and they don't realize that you are lying when you say it just up and stopped working LOL

Other than that, if it does just stop working or something goes wonky with it, you are already covered under the warranty for the initial period, with or without applecare.
