Correct. That's why it's always a good idea to get at least the 64GB if buying on contract, as the purchase price of $299 plus tax will cover the $299 out of warranty replacement price (for the iPhone 6).

The way Amex Extended Warranty works is should something fail in the 2nd year (or in the 3rd year if you also purchased AC+ with the same Amex card), you take your defective iPhone to the Apple store and pay for the out of warranty replacement. Amex will then reimburse you up to the price you originally paid for your iPhone. The out of warranty replacement price for the iPhone 6 is $299 plus tax regardless of the capacity. If you were to get the 16GB, Amex can only reimburse you $199 plus tax so you'll have to cough up the $100 or so difference. If you get the 64GB (which is $299 plus tax on contract), you'll be made whole by Amex.

Your right on the money. After 2 years your battery life may demiinish 25-30% Not enough for a battery replacement

I have had Apple Care on both my 3GS and 5 and have had both swapped out for poor batteries. Once about a year old and then once right before Apple Care was to expire.

I am a heavy user tho, besides normal phone, text, etc. I spend most of my time at work surfing the web or face booking and ens up charging my phone numerous times a day.

Purchased AppleCare+ and it increased my resale value

I sold my iPhone 5S 16GB this month and purchased a 64GB iPhone 5S (i like the phone.

I sold on eBay and made it very clear in the title I was selling AppleCare+ - the bidding was competitive and i achieved a far higher sale price for my year old iPhone 5S 16GB than other selling on eBay because of the AppleCare+

I had a few questions about whether the serial numbers matched etc.... which they did.

I never used it myself but i think AppleCare+ would definitely be worth it on a large capacity iPhone if you are going to keep it for two years. AppleCare+ expires two years after purchase.

He declined so I called Apple and got a prorated refund of 55 dollars. In that year I also had 2 lightning cables replaced and a set of EarPods. That and peace of mind is worth it.

People forget that the accessories are covered too which adds more value to ac plus service.
