A simple phone call to AppleCare will help you understand their policy, if you're interested. Those of us who wanted the official word have made that call.

Well, next time you call you might want to tell them to correct their FAQ on the Apple website.

Or else maybe they can add to the end of the page in italics: all of the information printed here may be directly contradicted by a call to Applecare at our discretion. lol!

I'm not entirely sure I understand your point here. It seems like you're trying to say that rather than believe what Apple writes in their Applecare FAQ we should know to CALL them to find out its actually something entirely different, as if that would be common sense. OK, if you say so.

Did you buy the coverage WITH a Mac? When you purchase Applecare at the same time as a Mac Apple automatically registers the coverage for you. This is their standard practice and it is also in black and white on the Applecare FAQ.

Yes, I believe it was purchased at the same time. I read all the papers that were included with it, but I don't remember reading that. Thank you.
