I understand applecare is worlwide but apple suggests buying applecare from your own country of residence .

Im gonna be buying a US macbook and was gonna buy my applecare over there rather than in the UK (as its cheaper too)

Can anyone tell me if there are any majord differences between the UK and US applecare

Also do you need to pay tax for applecare aswell 😱

either way , buy it on ebay. It is A LOT cheaper

1- You dont need the box do you :S

2- Is it legal for them to be selling it on ebay

Just because say i buy it , then sign up the people in the apple store wont interrogate me as to where i got it from , there not gonna be like OMG you bought this from ebay ...are they.

1. I meant that you buy it but get used code.

2. If it's used, it is. Almost same as selling Mac and sending the box only

I realise that they have loads of these boxes with codes

and all they do is email you the code , and bin the box .

Is this fine to do before , i mean the apple store arent gonna be like ...Nope we cant help you , you got your applecare from ebay and not us or a official apple retailer

If you buy it from eBay and it doesn't work, Apple isn't going to help you. How they could? Give you a new one because you got scammed?

try buying from an ebayer who has GOOD FEEDBACK regarding applecare sales.

HAve done it for years, and probably saved over $1,000

feedback dont matter on applecare since the buyer inputs the feedback when all is well. After it gets revoked, you can't change feedback.

That's true. Everything is perfect before buyer uses the AppleCare. Usually feedback is something like: Fast contact and shipping, great seller! Nothing about the actual product

Im not gonna buy applecare when i buy my macbook on ebay or in the store ill probally ride out the 1 year warranty for a bit then within the 1 year warranty will buy applecare on ebay from a seller who has good feedback from ebayers who have purchased applecare , i will also message the seller before i purchase the item

...actually amazon and LA computer are almost exactly =...

With the shipping charges from LA Computer, it would have been a few $$ more than what I paid for my MB AC shipped for free from Amazon and LA Computer wouldn't ship direct to me either due to the military address...

I think it's more this way:

They don't have any boxes; when you pay for a code, they generate one and sent it to you.

So yes if Apple finds out it's a fake they will void you AppleCare and then you're stuck in a hole.

What would suck is if your 1 year warranty is done and then Apple revokes the AppleCare purchased from ebay and u can't buy AC anymore.

Even if you're still in the 1 year limited warranty, if they void it, you're stuck without the ability to buy AppleCare.

Dude you kidding me?

So if you buy AC on eBay and it turns out to be fake, Apple wont let you purchase a legit AC from them or Amazon?

Why should they? Caveat emptor. If you want to buy Applecare from an unlicensed third party vendor you do so entirely at your own risk.

The super low prices of eBay Applecare weren't enough to convince me to buy mine there. I got mine from L.A. Computer.

To answer the OP's initial question there is no difference between Applecare coverage purchased anywhere in the world. You will be able to get service no matter where you travel with your machine.

Yes, it makes tons of sense. You got scammed, so now Apple will screw you again out of Apple Care. After just talking to an Apple Rep about Apple Care, I was told the exact opposite. I was clarifying the Higher Edu service and what not and then asked her about eBay. She said that if I register a void Apple Care account, Apple might help me, but if not I would just have to buy another one.

I thought the people on ebay who were selling applecare were selling LEGIT REAL COPIES ?

How would apple know its a fake if the code works
