Did you find that loophole yourself? Did you give credit to where it was due? You made money on something you didn't find yourself so do you consider that a scam?

I did not find the loophole myself, however I was not using somebody else's code to do it. I was running a simple activation.

The Gevey unlock is literally taking this code, or part of it, and utilizing it on the chip. They are selling the SAM unlock to the customer on a piece of hardware. If they got that permission, GREAT. This is why I stated in nearly every single post here that I am not labeling it as a scam. Because I do not know if they got said permission.

Yes, but you made money by using someone who originally found the method. Isn't that the same thing?

No. I am not using some code that someone meant to release to the community for free to make a profit.

I guess you meant to reply to another post? I didn't ask about the code but method. You used someone's method and made money on it. No matter how you are trying to deceive yourself but IMO, you're doing just the same thing.

No, I was responding to you. My problem is not with the method here. Sorry if that was unclear. The problem is with the code.

Years ago installing mod chips on gaming consoles was pretty popular. This was to play "home brew" (code for pirated games) on the systems. The mod chips themselves were fully legit. The kicker was they had to run some altered code from the actual system (let's say Playstation) that was not their property. Manufacturers got around this buy selling an unflashed chip and letting the end user "fend for themselves" in terms of acquiring the software/code. The manufacturer did not own or have rights to Sony's code/software, therefore selling the chip with said code/software preloaded is viewed the same as selling the software.

Based on these articles, it sounds like that is exactly what this company was doing, which is why I say it's a potentially shady sale. If I am wrong, I am wrong, and will admit that. Right now people seem to be focused on whether I have "the right" to be saying what I am saying, for some strange reason that I do find quite humorous.

I know, because what you and your "imaginary friend" was doing was not shady and 100% legit.
All I was saying is you should be the last person pointing fingers that's all.;)

I fully admitted the FAN discounts thing was shady, perhaps you missed it. I am not sure why that stops me from being able to judge whether something is potentially legit or not. Oh wait, it doesn't.

Well, I am pleased to put a smile on your face then. :)

You make me smile too, regarding my "imaginary friend", as you call him. You just can't seem to drop that one it seems.

Dont sweat it, it doesnt make any difference to me if it was really you or someone you knew.
If it was you more power to you for making some extra cash. I would do the same:D

If it was me, I probably wouldn't have stopped. Don't have access to the database like he does. The closest I have ever gotten to altering accounts was plugging junk into iTunes.

I dont know if its access to a certain database or just to a certain online link.
A few years ago I had found a link to get a FAN discount for HP Computer Corp.
I think its for 25% off from your total monthly bill excluding Text messages. So for minute plans and data you get a decent amount off every month. You just had to enter the name on the account, the main lines phone number and last 4 of the account holders social.
I did it to mine and hooked up most my friends and relatives that had AT&T. They all still get the discount now. Good times:)

That seems... like a security fail. LOL. I assume you either lost the link or it no longer works? That doesn't even sound like you need to be affiliated with ATT in any way to get it rolling.

On the first blog, it clearly states that the Gevey Ultra whatever uses the activation server exploit. It states the other versions do not.
