Blu-ray support in bound mark my words all Apple TV productions in special edition blu-rays available in Apple Stores excusively.

I doubt it at this point they are extremely niche and any 3rd party external drive from Amazon works fine. I recently bought a 4k Blu-ray drive to rip my physical library to use in plex.outside of ripping my physical media I have no other use for it
Same here... 👍 but...

I've been dabbling in physical media for audio CDs. Have both a vintage and new portable CD player. It's a fun distraction to burn custom "mixtape" audio CDs and mp3 data discs to use in those players.

Not that it is often, but it is ridiculous that you still cannot natively play blu rays on apple hardware.

So let me do the maths. :)

DVD rotational speed at 1X (about 1.4MBytes/sec) averages at about 1000 RPM.

So to write a dual layer 8.4GB DVD in one second, that would require that the disc spin at six million RPM.

I hope you're wearing a kevlar vest and asbestos pants.

I was so hyped about the speed that I didn't think it was important to mention it would be the last thing you would ever do in your lifetime!!
