Okay, so we can all agree that it's going to be a minor facelift with just under the hood improvements, right? But, that is what the S model is for!

Shouldn't that imply more likely that it won't be named iPhone 7, but more likely SE? As in Apple has decided to switch to Number - S - SE cycle? And I'm more than certain that it was already planned well in advance.

I just hope the news catch on quick of the iPhone 6SE, instead of everyone calling it a 7.

Oh look. Someone else telling us what we know/many others have told us already. It's pretty obvious why Apple aren't making major changes this year with the iPhone 7, if you don't know, well, I'll give you a hint, it's something to do with the 10th anniversary of the iPhone.

It's interesting cause they did Bugger all for the 10th anniversaries of thier other products. Seems like a convenient excuse for having the same design a third year round. We might even move into a three year design cycle if we the consumers accept this and make the iPhone 7 a sucess . Wonder if it will be called iPhone 7.

So, if you go by the rumors, the ONLY reason to really upgrade to the iPhone 7 is to get the dual cameras. Which being a travel photog, is fine by me, I'll upgrade just for the camera.

What other products have turned 10? The iPod? Come on, what's the point in creating a brand new iPod when it's embedded into the phone now.

The original MacBook was 10 in May and it seems they are a little behind schedule with new new Pro's which will feature the OLED bar etc.

The 3.5mm headphone jack is 4.26mm in diameter. The iPod Touch 6G that I have at home is 6.1mm thick. Now the iPhone 7 might be 1mm thinner than the 6 which is 6.9mm thick or the 6s which is 7.1mm thick... which would result in a thickness of 5.9mm or 6.1mm respectively. There would still be room for a 3.5mm jack.

This means that a removal of the 3.5mm headphone jack is be highly illogical! However, as we know Apple, they do away with universal standards rather aggressively. I just hope that the iPhone gets USB-C then.. and not the proprietary Lightning.

People not going to upgrade because the design is the same? Really?

Apple continue to innovate on the internals. The upgrade from the 6 to 6S was HUGE by itself as I am sure this years when compared to last.

The processor alone is enough reason for me to upgrade every year. The additional features usually introduced is added benefit.

The removal of the headphone jack would free up SO MUCH space. The amount of relative space it takes up when compared to the function if just awefull.

Wasn't there an article posted literally like yesterday claiming the the '16 iPhone will ship with EarPods & standard 3.5mm headphone jack that also claimed to have come from an extremely reliable source? If you're gonna report on out of pocket rumors, can we at least have some consistency?

removing the headphone jack is not a selling point. if that plus internals are the main differences, then why even get this phone over a 6S?

I agree. It will be perceived as taking something away. That coupled with the lack of any major design changes will be another weak quarter for Apple. It will be a good time to buy Apple stock in my opinion. Declining iphone sales will continue until the 10th anniversary iphone in 2017. Then they'll explode again. So buying apple stock now into early next year will probably be a great investment.

Apple is saving its radical redesign for the 10th anniversary iphone. Which makes sense.

Looks like the only reason to upgrade to the iPhone 7 is for the rumored dual cameras which will only be in the iPhone 7 plus I hear. Fine. Cameras are my thang. So I'll definitely buy just for that. But for most people upgrading to the 7 doesn't look like it's gonna be a must.

Majority of them . My point is that they have not made an annivesary model, and yet you are saying next years iPhone will be an anniversary model, hence I am saying its out of character . Just as likely they are moving to a three year cycle, That's all.
