So what does everyone think - after having iOS, tvOS, watchOS, do you think we'll see OS X renamed to macOS? Maybe even simplify the version numbers to drop the '10.' prefix? macOS 12.0?
That actually sounds like a good name, but since they dropped the "Mac" from "Mac OS X" in Mountain Lion, I wouldn't expect a renaming.

Plot twist: the spaceship is finished by June and WWDC is the grand opening!

Then they wouldn't need the Mascarpone Centre then, would they? :p

(I know you were joking, don't worry)

Though in all seriousness, this is likely be the last WWDC ever to be held here.

EDIT: Actually I'm talking rubbish, I was thinking about WWDC as a Keynote only, utterly forgetting that this is a World Wide Developer Conference with thousands of bodies attending tutorials, seminars and conferences for the whole week, which would (I'm assuming) never be done at the new Apple Campus.

Actually, I expect that WWDC will be held at Apple's campus after this year. It is vastly less expensive, more flexible for the employees, and valley hotels can have the few conferences that would require larger spaces and not be moved to the cloud.

I'm just wondering about the logistics and security of letting 5000+ people into the Apple Campus :p

Would be amazing though...

I know, bit funny how they did that. It created so much speculation at the time that OS X was on a collision course with iOS. Maybe enough so that it sent MS in that direction with Windows?

Either way, I'm really curious how they refer to both OSes at WWDC. OS X and iOS 10, sound nearly identical. The 'ten' in OS X feels so redundant. It's in the name and in the version number (10.11.3 for example), and it's been version 10 for nearly 15 years now.

iOS 10 might completely drop support 32-bit CPU devices or atleast apple A6 and A6X will remain.

I agree. I don't think we'll get a name change until they run out of California places.

I suspect it'll be some ground-breaking new ideas, such as allowing you to place apps where you want them, even at the bottom of the page.
I really hope we get some sort of visual refresh as well, the current design language looks really stale now and the UI really needs a lot of polishing and refinement.

Do you guys think that it means that there is no hope for Skylake Mac mini before this event? : /

Computex is May 31 - June 4th. I'm expecting intel to announce Broadwell-e .. This would be an EXCELLENT time for Apple to announce a Mac Pro refresh. AMD Fury X or Polaris Graphics with ddr4 and broadwell-e would make the mac pro a beast.

Each June, Apple holds its Worldwide Developers Conference at the Moscone West convention center in San Francisco, California, giving thousands of developers from around the world a chance to meet up with Apple engineers and sit in on valuable workshops and software sessions.

Apple has not yet announced the dates for its 2016 conference, but based on scheduling information available from the Moscone Center, it appears there's only one narrow window that's potentially available -- June 13 to June 17.

Dates in red are unavailable at Moscone West

During the first, second, fourth, and fifth weeks of June, Moscone West is booked for a Travel Association Luncheon, a Biotechnology Industry Organization conference, an International Society for Stem Cell Research convention, and the Red Hat Summit. There's nothing on the calendar for the third week of June, suggesting that's when Apple will use the facility.

Since 2007, Apple has held WWDC during the first few weeks of June, and the conference has always taken place at Moscone West due to the large number of attendees, so while there's no concrete information pointing towards Apple's WWDC plans, June 13 to 17 is a very solid guess based on past events.

At WWDC, Apple holds a keynote event on the first day to introduce new software and new products. In 2016, we could potentially see new Macs or other hardware, and we will get our first look at OS X 10.12 and iOS 10. Apple's 2015 event was software and service centric, focusing on iOS 9, OS X El Capitan, watchOS 2, and Apple Music.

[doublepost=1455497309][/doublepost]APPLE DISRESPECT US IOS DEVELOPERS!!! Why do we have to wait an average of 10 days for app review?
Don't they have enough money to expand their HR??

Looking back at the last three WWDCs I would guess we should see the ticket raffle/sale *announcement sometime in the next week or so IF the predicted date is correct.

WWDC date info
2015 Announced April 14 Held on June 8-12
2014 Announced April 3 Held on June 2-6

How do you plan on getting close enough to Tim Cook to shout in his face? Even if you get a ticket and get in line 20 HOURS before the keynote starts the closest you are going to be able to get is row ~15.

I have attended each and every one of these events, dating back to the beginning. For the first time ever, this is one I could easily skip. If not for the fact that work pays me to go, and provides luxury accommodations, I'd skip it and read about it later. The company that captured my interest for years has sadly become stale and dull.
