I'll be buying one. I always enjoy the latest iPhones if the features improved enough. I think I've only skipped two since my first iPhone (I started with the 3). It seems like we get at least a dozen Gurman rumors every day, what will the lunchtime one be? 🤣 All glass ipad?

Everything possibly Apple at this point is vaporware until released, used by the general public, and found to stand up to the scrutiny of the end user.

Too many promises have been made and not kept. Too much vaporware has been floated.

And what does make it to the public is sub-par, often not functional, and pretty much guaranteed to be somewhat of a disappointment.

I have ever diminishing faith in Apple to deliver. They earned that.

It's fun to watch what gets prioritized from a consumer perspective.
- "We need to make this device thinner than practical."
- "We need to make this screen larger."
- "We need to ensure that the camera sticks out far enough that some people will complain about it."
- "We need the screen to cover every spare nanometer of the phone."

Me: I'd like a phone that fits in my hand, sits flat on a table, and has good battery life.

Exactly this ^

There are so many of us that just want basically an SE3 or 16e (depending upon home button vs newer style pref and back camera situation) in a a few size options, including still offering something actually "small" for those of us whose usages dictate that as preferable.

They could just integrate TouchID back into the power/camera button and call it a day. The iPhone doesn't need FaceID.
Please don't. As someone that goes climbing with dry skin and has to deal with touchid on the macbookpro not reading it all the time I'm thankful it's not an issue on the phone. not to mention over nice perks like having notifcations not show up until its unlocked/etc where you can just glance over it and they show up. The only time i'd wish for the touchid back is when paying in shop so i don't have to activate apple pay beforehand but like that's usually the watches job anyway and with the touchid track record wouldn't be much use. (I'd be happy if it came back in addition to face id thou)

As much as I like Face ID, I think putting it underneath the screen it’s not gonna be very good with results which Apple does not want. They probably tried to perfect the tech but couldn’t meet their standards, I could see them just going to touch ID with the power button to do a full screen phone

I do wonder if Apple are deliberately leaking these stories to deflect from their current lack of innovation.

Sure feels like it..

Lots of "just wait! brand new AMAZE-BALLS tech coming soon!!"

(from the company who releases one half baked flop after another and was caught flat out lying in marketing)

This feels like a very typical "fake it until you (hopefully) make it" routine

Give me the full screen or the foldable.
I want something different and making the camera bump bigger/wider isn't it
The 17 ProMax leaks aren't going to get me to upgrade from my 15ProMax, more megapixels aren't either. I don't take photos professional of film YouTube conten

Back when I was on a hiatus with iPhone and went with android for a few years, I owned the Oneplus 7 Pro. Having basically the entire front of the phone be screen with no notch or hole punch was the first time in a while I felt like I was holding a futuristic phone.

Would absolutely love an iPhone like that.

Yes, I believe that’s what many of us are hoping for. However, we’ll see how things turn out in 2027.
Why? This doesn't even make sense as a design goal. The bezels are already vanishingly small. iPhone's biggest issue right now is its durability, and how uncomfortable it is to hold in the hand. It is basically designed to be put in a case at this point. How durable is an all screen phone going to be? What is a case going to hold onto if it has to worry about blocking the display?

I don't see any benefit to this design goal other than the repair revenue it will bring Apple.

I don’t even see notch on my iPhone 14 unless I look right at it. Bring on something useful, like docking to a DisplayPort USB-C launches MacOS. That I would pay for.
That would literally be the worst Mac in existence though. Horrible performance relative to the next worst Mac, and horrible battery life. Just because iPhone and Mac can now share the "same" chip (in name only) does not mean any of what some of you extrapolate from that. All it really means is more timely and efficient development at Apple.

An iPhone chip, board, battery are meant to run iOS. They are not meant to run macOS. I see the advantage, in theory, to what you're suggesting, but the practical reality is quite different.

As Macs go it wouldn't be great, but there's a group that really doesn't use a computer for much more than the web browsing, email and such. Such people want a larger screen than the phone often but otherwise have almost no need a proper computer. You can already attach a display and keyboard to an iPhone it just mirrors what's on the phone.

And that's why iPad was invented. Those same people you reference are not investing in an entire desk station for the occasion of plugging in a phone, nor are they are learning macOS.
